Game of Thrones - TV Show Questions; Book Answers (possible spoilers hidden)
Perhaps we need a crossover thread, where people watching the series can ask questions and get answers from people who have read the books. There are a LOT of characters and plots, and while the show does its best there can be many shadowy areas where clarification is helpful.
I though the format could go like this: someone asks a question, and then someone quotes that and then puts the answer in a spoiler tag.
Answer
That way people have a place to ask get answers (if available) and by keeping those answers spoilered, TV watchers can pick or choose what they want/need answered.
Please try to keep the general discussions to the appropriate thread.
And book readers, try not to give any REAL spoilers beyond answering the question. The goal is to help the TV Show people keep the story clear.

Damn I was just in the midst of creating a thread for this...
Quote:
As has been suggested by peoples in both the TV and Book versed threads, this can be a forum where everyone can post anything about GoT such as plotline differences between medias as well as pose questions to get a more in depth reason behind the TV show happennings.

I would suggest that you answer the questions delicately, as they may be leaving things out on purpose.. we can all think of one right now. Answer it as if you know only as far as the show has told you, but with background. Does that make sense?

Keep it as a simple "ask and answer" forum. Someone asks for some kind of clarity or asks how the books handle a situation and someone else can respond by quoting the question and answering in a spoiler hidden message.
As long as there is no forshadowing to the story or any outright spoilers (ie. Ned Stark gets beheaded in a few episodes!!!).

I don't know if I missed this from the show and haven't gotten around to re-watching. Did Joer Mormont end up telling Samwell to get that message to his son? Or is that a difference between the show and the books.

Yes, in the books Mormont told Sam to tell his son Jorah (the guy with Dany, apparently the show didn't make that clear to some) to take the black.

He got it through Baelish/Littlefinger, who got it from Loras' new boy toy.

Bobblehead answered above, she had greyscale as a kid which left her permanently disfigured. She is hid away because anyone with greyscale is shunned as it's usually fatal, and it's highly contagious

Yeah they actually covered that in the show. Well they didn't show Baelish talking to Tywin, but the showed him talking to the guy who got into Loras bed. Which was shown as way to get information. So you knew it was going to get spread. And we know Tywin works with Baelish often.
Though I would assume Baelish's reasons are his own. He'd screw over anyone.

Heh, Dondarrion - Daradon. Kinda close.
Someone once told me that the name of the horse (not horseman) in Sleepy Hollow was Daradon, but that wasn't correct.
