If I were voting I'd have Game of Thrones as best Drama series, Matthew McConaughey for best actor drama and Peter Dinklage for best supporting actor.

Also I never really thought of Orange is the New Black as a comedy. Yes it has funny parts, but it's more of a drama to me.

Best actor in a comedy series should go to Ricky Gervais in Derek. Such a great show and he does a good job of portraying Derek.

Listing it as a comedy probably improves their odds.

Quite interesting to see the awards dominated by networks like HBO, Showtime, AMC, Netflix, etc. Really a changing of the guard over regular network television.

I haven't watched Futurama in years so I am surprised to see it nominated for best animated program. Do they still make new episodes of Futurama?

The last season of Breaking Bad was the most I've ever been emotionally involved in a TV series ever. It would definitely get my vote. Game of Thrones would be a close second. And True Detective 3rd. Mad Men is still decent but has lost a step or two. Haven't got around to the new House of Cards yet, and still on season 1 of Downton Abby, so can't really comment on those.

I have to say looking at that list, I have thoroughly enjoyed TV a lot more over the last year or two than movies. I can't think of any movies off hand over that time frame I find any more memorable than these series listed here.

If Matty wins an Emmy, is he the first person to pull an Oscar and Emmy in the same year in major categories? I can't think of anyone else, but I'm sure I could be wrong.

This category is too close to call. Outside of Daniels, I would have no issue seeing anyone of the 5 get it. Hamm deserves one for his whole body of work on Mad Men, but that's not what it's about. In terms of the actual seasons getting voted on, I think MM and Harrelson are top 2 IMO. What they did was pretty special.

This is the best quote regarding the Emmy's this year:

My vote is for McConaughey, just so brilliant in True Detective. I would've said Cranston, but really, I'd play the political card and say because he's already won it's ok for him not to nab it this year. As a consolation prize of course, Breaking Bad should win best drama.

If True Detective can have 2 nominees for best actor, then Game of Thrones should get 2 for best supporting actor. Yes Peter Dinklage is awesome and always has been, but Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) has been absolutely brilliant the last couple of seasons. Playing someone so mentally shattered isn't easy and he nails it

Modern Family is still the funniest show on network TV IMO. The last season has been hilarious.
