Both of the Jets' Heritage Classic jerseys are based on their namesake WHA-era togs. Which makes sense, as it was their most successful period. Some of those Jets teams would've been very competitive in the NHL.
I wonder if respective Atlanta logos on the other shoulder for both teams would work? It's true "Heritage" after all. Just to keep it real. The modern Jets' lineage is not of the original franchise.

Tkachuk didn't play in the last Jets alumni game 3 years ago. They might be able to convince him to show up this year.
Shane Doan, Robyn Regehr, Curtis Glencross are all players who were still active the last time there was an alumni game for these teams. Also, Iggy and Kipper, of course.
Actually, the Flames could bring most of their roster from the 2011 Heritage Classic for the alumni game: https://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/mtl-v...me_state=final
It looks like Backlund, Gio, and Bouwmeester are the only players for the Flames that game who are still in the NHL.

Because the game is also in Regina, expect a smattering of Saskatchewan-connected players for local flavour as well.
I mean, who in Regina wouldn't want to see Clarke Wilm lace 'em up one last time?

Would be shocked if Iginla shows up for the alumni game, especially since he only retired a year ago.

Not sure where else to put this, so it's going here. St. Louis breaking out those 90s classics this year:

Apparently most people on Facebook. I couldn't believe the amount of comments along the lines of "They've already done these why don't we ever do anything new?"
It was baffling. I had to double check I was reading the comments on the right post.

I don't think he will, he's just too big. There's former players that are still in decent shape, former players that are in poor shape but passable to skate and some are just simply too big and out of physical activity to the point where it would just be too tough/embarrassing to lace them up. I think Papa Tkachuk is at that point.

I would have been OK with both teams giving a nod to the WHA. Cowboys vs Jets.

He played on the Blues alumni team at the 2017 Winter Classic. Also, if you look at Matthew and Brady's drafts, it looks like he slimmed down quite a bit in between the two.

Didn’t he play in 2017? Who are you to say if he’s in good enough shape lol?
Edit: last day of 2016

It is annoying when people don't all see things the same way. Subjectivity can pound sand!
(But in all seriousness, anything less than appreciation for these is a bit hard to fathom, so clean, so aesthetically sound)

Looks great what I would expect from the Flames traditional not deviating far from what has been. Looks fantastic, love the patches.

Ah, thanks that makes sense, appreciate the info. I'll ignore the jerk below you, but yeah he looked really big the last time I saw him, so that's good he's gotten way down.

Some people may have noticed this but the Flames changed their locker room wallpaper. Black out, 80-94 white jersey design in. Seems like classic C will really be back in a year or two. It's becoming for real now.
Compare it to last year:

the classic striping is a recurring graphic element in a lot of their branding now.
