The midpoint would have been $3.7 mil so the arbitrator favoured the team's case a little bit.

Is the player in the room during arbitration or is it just his agent that deals with it?

The player has the right to be in the room. Can't remember if it is required though.

Probably the arbitrator fat-fingered his calculator buttons.

This one might be interesting if it gets to hearing. The midpoint is above the walkaway threshold. Hearing is Nov 5.

Arbitration filings for Ryan Strome: NYR at $3.6M; player at $5.7M

I don't see NYR walking away even if they lose badly (which is not gonna happen - it'll be midpoint). NY has plenty of space and it'll be a one year.

Rangers still have to manage the bonus cushion. They already had $3.950 mil roll over from last season.
Lafreniere -$2.85 mil
Kakko - $2.65 mil
Fox - $850k
Shesterkhin - $2.85 mil
are the big names that could potentially hit all their bonuses

Strome is going to end up playing with some high end players. Take what you get and pad your stats, then cash in.

Strome should be aiming as close to the just below the walk away number as possible.

Toews was scheduled to go before an arbitrator on Oct 31.

That's quite the gamble for a 26 year old with only 116 NHL games under his belt.

Andersson had about 150. Toews also had another 30 playoff games. So pretty much identical games played.

Yeah, but CF has the NYR at $14.5M in space. I think they can afford all of that.

And the Rangers will trade him for a younger better player.
Still can’t believe Dorian gave up Zibenijad and a 2nd for Brassard.

Neither Capfriendly or sites like TSN are listing the Rangers of having bonuses rolled over from last season.
It's Dallas with a 3M roll-over: https://www.tsn.ca/13-nhl-teams-will...ason-1.1517304
