Anyone going to this? I have never gone but thought maybe some in here have, who can shed some light. Is it a fun event for the family?

To all the recent posters about pet insurance, thanks for nothing, I could have used that advice three weeks ago :-)
Glad to hear shes doing well. How big is she? She looks a lot like my dog Sawyer. Does he have a spotted tongue? He came from a rescue shelter 11 yers ago. Hes 11 already, still weights about 86 pounds. When I put my other guy down last year I was worried that Sawyer might deteriorate. But he's still doing really well for a dog his age and size. Hope your girl continues to show positive progress. I know our guy is as loyal as they get. He lets the one yer old walk riight over him with hardly a peep but will go after anyone shady that comes near the house. If I could clone him...I would..

Here's my boy Ecko. He turns 4 this October and hes a Shiba Inu. I got him off Kijiji for free because the family could no longer take care of him. Hes an oddball but so am I and we're best buds.

That 3rd photo is from the white(Daisy) and black/whites(Pip) 12th birthday party that my sister had. Pip has 5 teeth left but still wont let go of the toy.

So, Gus (as I have decided to name the little guy) has now been home for 2 days. He's just under 10 weeks old. He's very lively, curious and never shuts up - seems to get upset if you don't talk back to him. And very affectionate. But he won't use the litter box... I've now had to re-settle him in my bigger bathroom until he figures it out. Any ideas from other cat owners?

Are you using the same type of litter that he used at his previous home? Some cats are really particular about their litter.

Is the litter box out in the open, or in a "private" area? Some cats like a little privacy! Is he going on the floor, or on piles of clothes or plants? It helps to pick everything up of the floor if they are not going directly no bare floor.

I got ahold of the breeder, apparently theirs is from Costco (go figure, I guess when you have to buy in bulk that makes sense). This was one of my errors, I bought random stuff from the local pet store and it's brown and doesn't look like traditional litter. Hopefully the stuff I got from Safeway yesterday is close enough.

Yeah, started with him in my room but put two litter boxes in places away from his food and out of the line of sight in corners. Now he's in the bathroom I put it sort of partly sheltered in a corner so hopefully he gets it. Just feel terrible for the little guy, he's otherwise perfectly fine to roam around and doesn't get into much mischief but if he's going to pee on the bed, I guess I have to confine him for a bit.

Moving to HK for a year, I need to leave my two cats behind (along with my wife). HK has a four month quarantine for any animals coming from mainland China, which I just think would be horrible for them. My wife can come visit at least once a month, but I'll miss my cats until we find a way to get them out here. Both former Shanghai street cats.

Adorable!! Is he a Himalayan? If so, they are similar to Siamese, in that they are very vocal cats, they talk a lot!

I think it is probably just that the litter you bought is different and he wasn't comfortable with that. Changing to a more common type of litter will probably do the trick, as will confining him for a couple of days with the litter box.

He's a ragdoll. Yeah, he never shuts up and if you don't talk back to him he just gets more insistent. Like he'll actually mewl WHILE purring. Never heard a cat do that before. Also goes nuts when I leave the room, as if I'm never coming back again.

Yep, I'm hoping the smaller space does the trick. I mixed the two types of litter together a bit, and I've repeatedly pointed him to the box after he eats so... he'll figure it out, I guess?

I had a Siamese growing up and he never shut up. I have a cat I adopted, that I think must have some Siamese. She talks a lot, has similar facial features and her tail is really long and it spins around like a helicopter blade!
