I'm going to try doing both days without stopping. Hoping for 28km-29km/h average.

It's going to be hot so we'll see how I do with my water.

Did you create the 'Fox Hollow Speedster (the one you won't break your neck on)' segment?

Just noticed it this morning, it was being listed as a hidden segment. I've starred it for going forward. Much better.

Day One is done. I managed to not stop (minus a street light at the end). The hills and wind at 90 and 95km were almost the death of me and dropped me below the 30km/h average I was enjoying the first 90km.

Day Two was better than One. The hills that killed me at the end of the day yesterday were at the start. They still sucked but getting 60-70% of the elevation out of the way by 50km was great. A nice tailwind going into Bragg Creek and pretty much into Calgary was perfect. I managed to be one of the first 20 people to roll in. Though there were many faster people who started the ride later than I did.

Well done Kevin! I'm amazed you put on 8 pounds in 10 days, did basically no pre training leading up to the event and still managed to average 30kph on the second day. Hats off to you man.

It was just 10 days of no riding. I still put in a 2 or 3 100km rides this summer and try to get 100+ each week. Hitting 40 in a few months and I didn't want to be as out of shape has I have been for the last 15-20.

I think it took me 2+ hours longer each day to do the ride in 2010 and 11.

yeah i know i'm just buggin you. But I think if I took 10 days off to drink beer there's no way I would be able to average 30kph.

Rode that trail about 4-5 years ago before I got into biking and took the shuttle back up.

Super fun day, you'll enjoy it.

Boo to all of you that rode in later and avoided the rain. I'd rather have snow.

I had to drive my partner to the airport today so it was a happy accident that I got to avoid the rain all together.

Getting a little bit chilly out there in the mornings. Bigtime, are you already wearing your balaclava and ski goggles at 6am?

I got a new tire tube last night and I can only get it to partially inflate using my air compressor. I'm kinda stumped, is it a valve issue?

I do not know what type of valve it is.

I paid seven bucks for it at CT and it's a super cycle! Lol

Haha nope! I have been putting on a light pant over my shorts though.

Ok, so probably a shcrader. Do you have a pressure gauge? How much air does it take? Like, super soft, or decently inflated?

Just enough to fill the tube really, easily pinched flat

Try pressing the valve stem up, not into the tire. Lightly gripped with vice grips can hold it in place, or push the tire towards the rim to force the valve stem out a bit. It is also possible you punctured the tube while installing. Oh, and did you make sure the compressor is turned on? That helps.

Haha - yep compressor is full tilt! Google says it's a Schrader valve. I'll try the vice grip route next
