Playoff series are game to game. I see no reason why the Jets can't win the next game as long as Georgiev is between the pipes for the Avs. Clearly Hellebuyck has to be much better and if he is, the Jets have a chance.
Looks like a good comeback game for Georgiev. Not easy to do after crapping the bed last game.
Monahan looked like he was playing really well. Like in his prime in Cgy.
Lots of good teams in the playoffs. Don’t think there will be many sweeps. Home ice advantage will probably be big this year as teams are very equal.
Agree 100%. Now the question I have is does Monahan get a $8.5M contract like Bo Horvat? Other than his 3 injury seasons he has been the superior player in the NHL. Even with those 3 down seasons he still has outscored Horvat in their careers.

Yeah
if they can stop giving up 5 or 6 goals a game, obviously, things will improve greatly for them.
But
That's a hell of a prognosis not even seven periods in
Hellebuyck not having his killer instinct to keep the games close is what'll sink the Jets over this 7 game series.
6 then 5 goals in 2 games is just not good enough. It reminds me of Markstrom vs Oilers and how his impact was leaned on vs Dallas and when it fell apart in round 2 the Flames just cratered.
Funny how the narrative shifted from how bad Georgiev was to Hellebuyck being the concern. Thats going to put a lot of pressure on the Jets for Game 3.
The Avs play at a pace that is hard to match, its they like are all on turbo boost.
They also have 2 key pieces to winning a championship a #1C and #1D who both probably are the best at their position this season. In a series that will be hard to overcome.
Hopefully the Avs win it all, they did it with shaky goaltending last time as well.
The Jets haven't yet played at all to their level. I find it hard to imagine they could dominate the avs all regular season, only to get the pipe fed to them in the playoffs. It happens, but, hopefully getting away from the pressure of the barn they can find their game

Yikes. Still such a bad draw for the Jets to even be playing Colorado in the first round. Some real Tom Foolery going on in the West that's going to see potentially see the top teams all eliminated in the first round.
The Jets, due to the horrible 1st round matchup alignment, has to play another top team in Colorado. Meanwhile Edmonton, who had a worse season, draws LA. Vancouver loses their starting goalie (this one is beyond anyone's control). Dallas has to deal with Vegas cheating. Just doesn't feel like a scenario where teams are being rewarded for their regular season play.
