Default Emergency Alert for Dangerous Persons

Saw the alert popup on my phone, didn't think much of it at first. Then I saw the reddit thread on r/Calgary of possibly over a dozen dead and many more injured

https://www.reddit.com/r/Calgary/com..._an_emergency/

It's all hearsay so far since the RCMP haven't released any detailed information, but if that's accurate that means we have 2 serial killers randomly going into houses and stabbing people. Really hope these #######s don't cross the border into AB

Saskatoon subreddit also listing deaths in the double digits

https://www.reddit.com/r/saskatoon/c..._person_alert/

Yea the alert is actually right by my house. It's wild. The entire community is dead quiet, when it's usually super active, as they advised shelter in place. We went for a drive to grab food and it's quiet.

It seems like a huge area that was notified, is there anything more specific?

My assumption is they don’t know exactly where they are and which direction they are heading hence the announcement to Alberta and Manitoba.

Unverified reports are that they are near Regina now and have a car, thus the huge notification area. No way to tell which direction they could be going next

So they started in Sask?

I think it’s because they have the make model and plate numbers-get everyone looking even on the fringes of how far they could have made it (or will make it to if not found soon)

Yeah I think so. I did a quick look through twitter and it seems as so the first reports where this morning on a Nation near Melfort, Sask.

Again it was a quick scan so I could be really getting these details wrong.

Damned Saskatchewan, always exporting nothing but Riders fans and violent lunatics and the twain arent always separate demographics.

If Reddit is right there is 20+ random people dead or injured. Wow.

Given how late this press conference is taking to start, I have a feeling there is an insane amount of information that they are going to be making public and need to firm up proper communication

They think they’re in Regina but warned neighbouring provinces in case they make a run for it. We both got the alert at the same time, AB and Man. Sask got one earlier.

Most of the attacks were on a reserve up near Melfort and were random but the murderers made a run for it and headed to Regina.

Yeah I was thinking something similar.

Hopefully they get these people before anyone else gets hurt. The randomness makes it scarier.

I got the alert earlier and thought it was weird that they seemed to be alerting only Manitoba and Alberta about a stabbing in Saskatchewan.

From the RCMP in a live update now: 10 dead and 15 injured. 13 different crime scenes. Some targeted and some random.

Still at large.

Seems kind of odd for an emergency alert in Alberta no?

If there is any chance they went towards Alberta I don’t think it’s odd at all. Get people looking for the car in question.

They don't know where they are. And the alert went to MB as well. So they're casting a very large net. Hopefully these cats get caught soon but my immediate family lives on the SK / AB border so it's a tad worrisome. I'm glad to know that they know to be extra cautious.

Our farm is right there. My uncle has been holed up in his combine all day but has been texting updates he’s been receiving from the community. This is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard from such a quiet part of the country. I hope they find these two soon.

Started in North Central Sask, then I noticed the alert on Arcola Ave, which is SE Regina. I live on the far SE end of Arcola.

I would think they have a few places to hide here. A handful of Indian Reserves, which are in Central Regina area.

I got family msging me to tell me to keep our kids inside all day. I doubt they'd come into my neighborhood, but better safe than sorry.
