I love the lyrics, music is alright. Don't care what song it's originated from, K-pop, J-pop really can't tell, I'm too old for those. But absolutely love the lyrics of this one. Just listen to it and enjoy the lyrics never mind what original song it's based on, it's irrelevance.

if you haven't heard this song before, sorry to break the news that you're officially old as balls. it's not really my cup of tea but worldwide, Butter is way bigger than In Da Club ever was.
Butter Songwriters: Jenna Andrews (wrote a TV theme song), Rob Grimaldi ("digital musician"), Stephen Kirk (Christian songwriter), RM (guy from the band), Alex Bilowitz (producer), Sebastian Garcia ("spotify musician"), Ron Perry (literally the CEO of Capital Records) Producers: Rob Grimaldi ("digital musician"), Stephen Kirk (Christian songwriter), Ron Perry (literally the CEO of Capital Records) Performed by: Seven dudes, only one of which was listed above
In Da Club Songwriters: Curtis Jackson (50 Cent), Andre Young (Dr. Dre) Producers: Curtis Jackson (50 Cent), Andre Young (Dr. Dre) Performed by: Curtis Jackson (50 Cent)
One song was written by one guy from the band and the CEO of Capital Records, plus five other people - and then produced by the CEO of Capital Records and two other people.
The other song was written by a couple of old-school LA gangsters, produced by those same two gangsters and then performed by one of those gangsters.
This is why people don't like boy bands and their record company written and produced garbo.

There was also that Tone Loc cover Flaming C arena '89. That was a good one as well.
I loved this one during that run. I was 10 at the time and thought it was awesome. I still generally remember the first couple of lines.
"Going to the mall, looking for a sweater,
Man says yo it's the Flames you want, cause there ain't nobody better"
At least that's what's been in my head for the last 33 years. Would love to get a copy of this somehow. When the right song/parody for this kind of thing comes along, it just hits perfect.
Good on the OP's friend for the creativity to come up with that. I like that the city is ramping up with excitement for what is hopefully a long run. Sadly I'm in Spruce Grove and anticipate my fair share of awfulness from the blight on our province to the East of me.
