FYI - Walmart is or will be clearing out their a bunch of their Lego.

Timing of sales will depend on your Walmart. Some great deals to be found at 40% + off.

There are some unicorn sales where you could find a set for $0.02. I haven't encountered those yet, but I have seen others hit them.

My experience with summer Walmart clearance here in the states:
Deals are in store only.
Individual stores discount at different rates and different times.
20% is the base discount, 40% is a solid deal with decent chances if you get there early, and over 40% is rare as sets usually sell out before having to go higher.
Smaller stores often have better discounts because they have less shelf space for Lego and need to move product quick for the new sets coming in.

you can use Stocktrack.ca to check. It will show inventory levels and pricing for stores.

the inventory levels are hit / miss. For example, there was a Ninjago Tuner Car for $9 (Reg. $49.99) at Airdrie walmart, showing QTY of 8.

I got there and there were none, so my assumption is they lost a whole carton of it, hasn't been placed out, or they lost 8 to theft.....

Yes, you should, if you're a crazy collector like me. You can buy 5 of a good set, and use those to offset the cost of the next $600 set youbeant to buy this Christmas.

Of course you tondeal with kijijji or online sales

Sage Hill will always be last to the sales.

I think since there is nothing else really around, they have no need to drop prices right away.

We have brickseek down here and it is often pretty unreliable as well. Though normally you wont see a discrepancy as large as 8. I see stories on reddit all the time about having to ask store employees to go look. Sometimes trying with multiple employees to find one that actually puts the effort in is what it takes. It's all a huge YMMV scenario.

I have enough walmarts around that when the sales started I found who had good discounts on the larger sets and then went there first. I wouldn't worry too much about stock numbers just to see selection. Pretty much anytime I get teased by a huge discount having limited stock, it turns out to be false.

yeah, i had a number of other sets to look out for at that Walmart, so I was still able to come with away 3 sets (2 for kids, 1 for us). I was really hoping to find that Miner car for the kids, but looking at the stock history, it would make sense that the carton got misplaced.

I'm jealous of all of the US walmart deals that are happening right now. I wouldn't mind getting another Bonsai at discounted price.

Just finished building the '89 Batwing. It was a pretty good build, and it actually can hang on the wall.

Spoiler!

I bought that a month ago and I'm waiting to build it sometime this winter when I have a lull. I'm happy to hear that it was a good build

I have recently found myself with some unexpected time off on my hands, and realized that Season 2 is on View On Demand on CTV. I've not seen Season 1, but figured I'd catch up on S2 (the finale is this Tuesday, apparently)

I have some thoughts:

Spoiler!

I made an order from Bricklink this week. The person I ordered from remembered me going back to 2000, and we laughed cause back then there were like 5 people in western Canada on Bricklink (then called Brickbay)

Anyway.... I discovered i'm member number 200-something and that's inflated my sense of self-importance

When did they get up to 960k members?! Which leads up to me next question: how they only at 960k members worldwide after 20 years?

Found the castle! Seeing it again brought back a flood of memories playing with it and building different things. We're probably going to build it this weekend. So far, it looks like only a few minor things missing. It's funny how different the instructions were back then.

I was in the model train store on Centre Street South near Chinook last week, and they had a bunch of old Knights Lego sets on display, including a full castle. They must have bought a collection or something.

You've got to find a RC rig for that and take it out to Prince's Island or something.
