Higher elevation means the ball has less resistance and travels further, see Colorado.

Vegas is ~600m. Shouldn't be that much of a factor especially now that all teams use a ball humidor.

Fun little chart. Interesting to see Oracle Park have a little tick of elevation. Isn't it literally on the waterfront? Same with Camden yards. Right down the street from the harbour.

I did! Because I looked it up after seeing this image a few weeks ago. Apparently, it straddles the Eastern Continental Divide which splits drainage between the Gulf and Atlantic.

I feel bad for Oakland fans but an MLB team in LV can’t happen soon enough for my taste.

Darn. My one major bucket list item is to attend a game (and purchase a hat) at every MLB stadium. I've done most of the coastal/normal vacation destination cities (including Oakland) but now I'll have another one on the list. I did Houston this year but now that just gets me back to even... although probably Vegas As happen before Cincinnati or Milwaukee...

Rays walk it off in dramatic fashion. Still undefeated at home.

The proposed location of the ballpark is great too. Just north of Allegiant Stadium and across the highway from T-Mobile, and a shade south of the centre of The Strip.

Maybe my next Las Vegas vacation I'll get to catch a ballgame?

Spencer Strider has a no hitter through 7.

Also; lost his perfect game in the 7th. Absolutely stupid error by Matt Olson to lose the perfect game.

14-0 at home. Longest home win streak to start a season in MLB history.

Something tells me the WC spots are the best the Jays can hope for this season.

Oakland blowing a 7-1 lead is very on brand.

Yeah that team looks like they are close to historically bad.

What an unceremonious exit to Vegas it will be.

Sad for a fairly storied franchise.

My wife grew up in the Bay area. Thems East Bay types are some kinda salty....

They've literally lost all of their pro sports teams.
