Lifetime Suspension

Only one system upgraded from 7 to 10. Again, whole lot of meh for me. Watching Netflix last night, up pops Windows and Cortana has encountered a fatal error and the only option is to log out of Windows and close all programs. Awesome.
Think I might load Windows 7 again on this machine.
Edit: Loading Windows 7 again. Windows 10 is really not for me. 7 is the best version of Windows IMO. Glad I only updated one computer in the house.

Is there a way to have my tile setup from my surface migrate over to my desktop? I seem to remember 8.1 doing that automatically.

Just login with a MS account on both systems, no?

I upgraded my PC to 10 yesterday. I'm happy with it. Much happier then 8.0.
I like how the search feature is back (hit windows key then type in file name). I HATED how it was used in windows 8. I initially didn't like how 10 defaulted my file types (avi, mp3s, jpegs, etc) to the default windows apps. But no biggy, I just changed it back.
Overall I am satisfied.

Force install it?
On a different note:
Anyone else having a minor and annoying issue of having their settings reset? I have to change the reverse scrolling option every few times I restart my laptop as well as tell the OS that Edge isn't my default browser. Not a biggie, but an eye roller for sure.

Sound stopped working for a few hours and then corrected itself. File Explorer still wouldn't launch from Task Bar. Relatively minor bugs, and a good product right from the start. Enough so I am looking forward to the new Cloudbooks from Acer.

My laptop got the update right away even though I didn't reserve until the last minute. My desktop still doesn't have it; the message from Microsoft is it could be days to a few weeks. Not a big deal though since I've been managing fine with 8.1 until now.

That feature was removed
Windows 10 won't include support for syncing Start menu layouts or app installs

I have an ultraportable with windows 10 on it. It's great. Would definitely love to install SSD on it tho... but not my laptop, is wife's. Those cloudbooks like like great options too.

I haven't had any issues like that at all. I didn't bother with a clean install, and everything migrated over perfectly, other than the hiccup with my wireless adapter I mentioned earlier.
Anyone found a good way to get Recycle Bin more accessible? I can't seem to get it show up in File Explorer (other than a shortcut), and I can't seem to pin it to my taskbar, even as a shortcut. I suppose I could just pin it to Start.

Alright, just got the 'Update' message for my office computer.
I really dont want to do it because when I went from 8.0 to 8.1 nothing worked because none of my ancillary devices had drivers that worked and it took forever to get fixed.
Am I going to have that problem again?
I'm thinking of just twiddling my thumbs a bit while other people operate as Microsoft's guinea pigs.

In the File Explorer, go into Folder Options and enable Show all folders under the Navigation Pane options. That will show the recycle bin and control panel in explorer. There's also a 3rd party extension to put the recycle bin into your tray

My laptop can't handle video on any media player since I updated Wed. It's very annoying.

You can roll back to 8.1 if you don't like 10 or maybe try a dual boot.

Just updated from Windows 7 and I'm so far happy with the changes. Think I might grow to like it more once I get used to the UI. Haven't had any issues yet, laptop seems to running a bit smoother, but not a drastic difference. I moved all my files and documents to an external drive and did a clean install on my laptop.

Man, wouldn't it be great if Windows actually let you know when an update failed?

Upgraded my desktop from Windows 7 and none of my fears have been realized. No driver issues, everything seems to work. Got sick of waiting (especially after my laptop updated the first week) so forced the install.
If Edge could import saved passwords and had an adblocker I'd switch to it from Chrome

I'm trying to update a Dell Optiplex 755 and it says the Core2Duo E8200 CPU doesn't support NX-bit. That's bull crap because I look up the CPU and it clearly does.
I updated the BIOS and made sure Secure-bit was enabled. Any idea what else I can try?
