Right before the pandemic hit, my son started dating a single mom. A couple of months ago, they moved in together. Because of the pandemic, we only met them in person this past spring. Recently, The Little Feller asked if he could call us grandparents, so we became Grampa & Lolli- he chose our grandparent names, haha.
Tonight he came home with Grampa after work, for a visit, while his grownups went out for a few hours. We've played with ALL the toys, ordered pizza and now we're watching some Spiderman. He's very into superheroes and right now, that's Spiderman. It was Iron Man for a while but now his dude is Spidey.
Having a grandkid makes me really happy.

i think i'm doing this 'dad thing' right....
this morning my son (who's 6) and i did an early morning superstore run. i had sent my mom a text asking if she wanted us to pick anything up for her - there was a couple of things so we made sure to grab them for her and then went to drop them off before heading home.
i get out of the truck to bring my mom her things and my son asks that i leave the music on in the truck - no problem. i bring in the groceries and "grammie" comes outside to say hi to matthew.
i jump back in the truck and as we are pulling out of the driveway matthew says to me, "daddy!! you missed 'hells bells'!"
ha! ha! love it!!
oh - another one from him - he's recently really getting into hockey cards. i think he has a dozen so far. the best is when sorting them he always puts the one oilers card on the bottom of the deck! ha!

Sounds like your grandkid is equally as lucky to have grandparents like you Minnie.

My 6 year old son is really starting to get an interest in videos and making videos. I finally let him upload one to Youtube Shorts (basically TikTok) that he made - just a clip from a video game he was playing with a song timed over it. He was quite proud of it, and then really disappointed yesterday when no one had watched it yet.
Lo and behold we wake up this morning and it's somehow gone viral overnight and has over 170K views on Youtube. He's lit up with excitement now and already coming up with ideas for more. Cute to see your kids' passions rewarded. Also funny that his first ever post on any social media has blown up.

Battery heated gloves and clothes in general. I got a few pieces of battery heated clothes for Sundays game in Winnipeg, and, holy smokes, pretty toasty stuff. Should really help.

Me and Mrs Puppet were in a store this morning and the Peanuts theme comes over the PA. You know that we had to start dancing like we're in the cartoon right in the middle of the aisle.
