It's going to cost them their 1st.

Key is going to be true blue chip quality prospects, no quantity over quality trades like Feaster insisting on needing three pieces for Iggy instead of just one great piece.
The teams most likely to make moves IMO are Carolina, Florida, Islanders, Washington, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vegas, Colorado,
Based on that here are the guys that should be targets from each team.
Carolina:
Jarvis
Bean
Suzuki
Rees
Florida:
Lundell
Tippett
New York Islanders:
Dobson (although the chance of that is zero with how he's played, Thanks Treliving and Hamonic!)
Wahlstrom
Washington:
McMichael,
Lapierre
Toronto:
Liljegren
Robertson
Hallander
Amirov
Winnipeg:
Perfetti
Heinola
Vegas:
Brisson
Hague
Krebs
Cormier
Colorado:
Byram (very unlikely)
Newhook
Timmins

If we trade Derek Ryan to the Oilers I might picket outside the Saddledome for Treliving to be fired.
This season has been bad enough, we don’t need to help load the Oilers up for a playoff run.

It would be really interesting to see those stats done relative to TOI. Having a couple monsters on your 4th line or 3rd pair is different than rolling Hedman 25 mins a night.
Tyler Johnson 5'8 183
Gourde 5'9 172
Point 5'10 166
Coleman 5'11 200
Only two guys are particularly small, though i'm not sure any of them play small?

I'm fine with a 2022 2nd. It'll be 33OA.

As Powderjunkie laid out, the Lightning have quite a few key undersized forwards. I think he/she forgot to mention Nikita Kucherov as well who looks pretty small out there.
Nikita Kucherov 5’11 180
Tyler Johnson 5'8 183
Gourde 5'9 172
Point 5'10 166
Coleman 5'11 200
Actually, most of their forwards if you look are actually 6’0 and under and these are their most important skaters. It’s their back end that has all the size. They also have a few monsters on the team that skew their averages like Hedman, Foote, Maroon, Cernak, Schenn and etc.
EDIT: Looks like Tampa Bay has had history of very small forwards leading the way through their playoff runs. Names like Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov, Tyler Johnson, Martin St Louis. I think the Tampa organization has proven you don’t need a team of hulking monsters to win in the playoffs.

Package Rittitch up with Johnny to the Flyers. They definitely need some goaltending help.

I don't think they trade for futures unless it is a player who can step in right next season. I expect Gaudreau for Konency and Monahan for Reinhart type of deals first.

Their playoff odds are worse than the Flames. No point in them being deadline buyers.

Both the Flames and Flyers could use a shake up. Seems like destiny these two should take with each other.

Even though it may be a tough slog to get through the rest of this season at least the offseason will be interesting. It is going to be refreshing to have some bigger changes to this team. No big changes up front for a few years now.

Actually there was a write up in the bleacher report about the Flyers being buyers.

Let's say the Flyers want Rittich to shore up goal, Gio to shore up their D and hometown boy Gadreau. What do we get back?

Do they even have the cap space for that?

They probably figure they can trade Larsson 1 for 1.

How would you make the cap work?
And it’s not you are giving up anyone that helps them. They don’t really need Johnny. Gio likely has negative value.

Flames probably have to retain a pile of salary. So we get Konecky + Patrick and all of their draft picks

Take it easy hoss. I wasn't saying it was happening I was just making conversation that isn't the typical arguing about Monohan or complaining about trading picks for depth defensemen at the trade deadline.
