I think there's only so many times you can talk to drunk fools until 2am about the Calgary Flames.
Steinberg has been the host of Flames games for what, seven years now? Eight? There's no reason the same guy who does the afternoon show hosts your flagship program should also be doing to call-in show afterwards. There have got to be half a dozen lower-level guys who would love to do that gig.
But, I'm sure the Overtime money makes a big difference, so Pat endures. I can dig it. Small price to pay for going to every Flames game.

Amazing seeing the way this season is going for the Flames so far. I have to say that despite the doubts and criticism I've had for some of Treliving's moves, this team is looking like all the pieces fit together right now, and with so many young guys producing they look like they could be a real challenger in the conference for a while if they can keep it up.
Most fun I've had following the team since Hartley's first season. It's feeling good!

Took the flames until game 38 to hit 40 points last season.
Peter's has a fantastic pulse on the team, he's quickly becoming one of Trelivings best moves (players included) in his tenure here as a Flame GM.

If you would have told me a year ago that the Flames would be without Backlund and Gio, Smith would let in a horrible goal, the Flames would still win and get points from.........
Kylington
Quine
Andersson
Hathaway
..........to beat the Preds to move into 1st in the West I'd probably laugh in your face.
Crazy stuff. Might as well enjoy it.

I'll eat crow on Brodie as well.
Man has he just recaptured what made him successful back in 14-16. Its hard to imagine GG never even tried that pairing in his 2 years here.
Flames didn't even seem to miss a beat with Gio/Backs out of the lineup tonight.

I just wish he had gotten Peters right away instead of Gulutzan. 2 years of our core players in their prime wasted under GG, the smartest guy in the room who couldn't even figure out the proper side to play his defenders. The only solace I take out of that is GG was so bad it forced Treliving's hand to make a big deal, and we probably don't have Hanifin/Lindholm this year

Rasmus Andersson with 23 minutes of ice time. It's incredible how much Peters trusts those young defensemen and how much they pay him back. With Hanifin, Andersson, Valimaki and Kylington that blueline will be set for a long, long time.

Yes. Steinberg is incredibly opinionated and acts as though he simply can't be wrong. It's tough to have a conversation with someone like that.

Sometimes you need a bad situation in order to see what fixes are needed. BT was able to see a lot of GG's and the coaching staffs shortcomings and look for ways to right the ship. Our special teams sucked, our bottom 6 was not good enough, poor, or non-existent in-game adjustments. The PP needed someone with experience, Ryan Huska gives the guys coming up a link and can provide input into player skills and attributes. I still think with a little more skill in the bottom 6 this team could be scary good!
