It's going to be a hot one in Melbourne today (33 Celsius for a high) and the humidity is up there as well.

Maybe it's because I'm a Genie fan, but I'm excited to see how she does against Serena.

I'm not expecting Genie to win, but maybe take it to 3 sets?

It's going to be hot and humid and that might give Genie a chance to take a set off Serena. If she can stay positive, serve well and stay aggressive without being reckless, she can give Serena a tough match. It will be interesting to see who the crowd will be behind, Serena will have her supporters no doubt, but Genie is a fan favourite as well.

Serena can sometimes take a half hour or so to find her range, so if Genie is sharp from the start, she might be able to bag the first set while Serena is still in grimacing/screaming/incredulous hand gesturing mode.

not expecting a miracle either, but aside from an even more unlikely Genie championship, I can't think of an upset I want to see more on the WTA side.

Shes playing well but not consistant. Lots of errors.

Shes just dug out of 0-40. Sevastova is chirping at her boyfriend/coach. No win situation for that guy.

Whoa!!!

Bianca comes back and holds serve! It was over 7 minutes for that game.

She looks like she hits it really hard in her ground strokes, or it may be that the 2 games I've seen have her really confident against an opponent who is losing composure.

But it bodes well for her to pull a game like that out in the 2nd round of a Major at this point of her career.

She's keeping busy re-taping her racket. Re-tying her hair. Sighing and wanting to go back.

Her opponent is doing the deep breathing and slowly coming down from seething. But not as edgy as she was 5 minutes ago.
