While it is common to barter services, it may be difficult to find someone interested in your unit in exchange for installation. This is likely a male-dominated field but statistics tell us there is a portion of that population that would be interested in this sort of barter. You may have better luck on Craig's List.Probably just easier to supply a heater for them to install for cash, but good luck to you.

Highly recommend.

What was the total cost? Was it in line with the 'estimates' on their website?
I was planning on doing infrared but $2k is a smoking deal.

Sure I could keep it at 1 degree, but why? An extra $20 in natural gas over a season is nothing

I did end up getting it and installed it yesterday. I think I'm going to like having the option to keep it cooler if I want (when I'm away, during super cold snaps, etc.). Will still probably keep it around 10 normally, though, now just with a little more flexibility.

I'm just in the process of building a garage/workshop (30 x 50). I've just got a few places that I have to infill the sheathing and then I'm ready for trusses. The walls are 10 ft high, with 2 x 6 studs at 16" o/c, so they were very heavy.

I would do unspeakable things for a garage like that.

Agreed Pictures! I am doing a 30x50 as well here soon, just waiting for the gas company to come move some lines then we start.
Would also be interested in your plans/layout

I had to pay an additional $580 becasue for the length and complexity of the gas line. The painting of the line was also part of that. With GST and the cost of the permit I was closer to $2700. All of this was explained to me beforehand.
I believe the website to be acurate if they can run the line easily.

I'm having a hard time getting them small enough to post. I'll figure it out.

Burn down the garage. Start over.

You are trying to embed the pictures inline, which is the wrong way about it. Go to imgur.com click the green "New Post" button at the top, then upload your picture (browse for it, or drag it onto the rectangle).
Once the image is upload, mouse over the image, and you will see a little down arrow appear in the top-right corner. Click it, and select "Get Share Links". Select the Copy button for the BBCode entry, then paste into your post. Not really straightforward, but that's basically how you post images here.
