Gael Monfils just recorded his 500th ATP tour win with a straight sets win 6-3 7-5 over de Minaur.

yeah I think I'm gonna go ahead and boldly predict a victory for Team Blue this year. unless they decide to switch out the tennis for Call of Duty in which case it's an easy Team Red sweep.

Raining in Cincinnati this morning, play will likely be delayed for at least a couple of hours if not longer.

Krygios is such a waste. I wish they'd give de Mineur or Garin a chance. I can't take this event seriously. It's sort of like how bad the International team always is in golf's President's Cups. Captains picking their buddies.

I doubt most of the Aussies will be playing much down the stretch of the season having been away from home for so long. This likely was a big reason DeMinuar or even Millman are not playing as such obvious choices.
I would have liked to have seen Christian Garin or Lloyd Harris get a crack before Kyrgios as they have both beaten some very solid players this season, but they aren't very marketable at this point. At least we know Kyrgios will give it his all at team events like this and he does make people want to watch.

Paire and Isner are going to a 3rd and deciding set. Paire has 14 aces but also 16 double faults through two sets (both sets have gone to tie-breaks, Paire won the first and Isner won the second). No rallies over 9 shots in this match lol

Isner just broke himself with three double faults in the opening game of the 3rd set.
Edit: The heat and humidity got to Isner as he faded badly in set 3. Paire took the final set 6-1

We shouldn't be surprised that Ash Barty defeated Vika today, but a 6-0 6-2 scoreline is very unexpected.

It appears that the Gaby/Luisa tandem is going to be a very successful one. After winning Montreal last week, they are into the semi-finals of Cincinnati this week.

Watching Casper Ruud destroying Schwartzman this afternoon and it makes me think that this year's Laver Cup could be a rout for Team Europe.

As if on cue, there he goes again - Somebody should time how long Tsitsipas is gone for this time.
Edit: Somebody must have talked to him, he was actually pretty quick tonight.

Getting back to Oikos, maybe he should talk to Dimitrov about vaccines as he is nowhere near the same player since contracting COVID-19.
