icon53 Flames Director of Marketing: "I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Blasty"

Interview with Ryan Popowich and the basic Flames jersey strategy going forward.

Organization recognizes brand value of "C of Red" so they don't want to mess with a good thing going forward.

Picking up hints that full-time Retros are on their way back.

Blasty as a shoulder patch? Any thing to get rid of the flags.

Blasty worked on the '04 style jerseys, blasty on the '89 style jerseys would be tragic.

It's a great shoulder patch. Jersey crest? Not so much.

That's scorchy but ya, I made the same assumption.

Scorchy as shoulder patches would be awesome though.

That's Scorch. Scorch on a jersey would be pretty sweet.

Blasty as the shoulder logo instead of the flags would be nice.

Agree, especially if done without any black on the retros.

I got the feeling the snot nose horse could become a 3rd jersey at some point but I doubt for the home or always. They know they got something good with the retros and I believe that's where the Flames are going. Hopefully very soon, no problem adding black to the 3rds I'd love to have the 2004 jersey as a third. Keep the retros as they are

Scorch on the front, Blasty on the shoulders. Win win!

Seriously though, Blasty has no place on the retros. Bring back the 2004 reds (or a reasonable variant) with the horsehead shoulder patch as the alternate/third jersey and rake in the profit.

I always liked Blasty.

It would be cool if they had a flaming horse run around the rink every time the Flames score.

I just saw someone wearing a vintage Blasty jersey today. It looks so much better than the current ones.

Scorch with flames blasting out of his nose would be best.

Really awesome article. I am absolutely in love with the white retros. The flames have the potential to have the best home away combo in the league. Thats not homerism i say that with as much objectivity as I can.

They should bring Ole Blasty back for the 100th year celebration of the Flames. That would suit me fine.
