Many pro personnel guys are still old school dummies who rate things like size and arm strength over what the actual stats and film say about the guy. There is absolutely nothing about his college stats and especially his advanced stats that suggests he's going to be a franchise QB at the next level. Most of the advanced analysis I've seen on the guy suggests his ceiling might be the lowest of the top 5 guys.

None of these guys are likely to be franchise QB's...none of them.
Doesnt mean Allen wont be the best of the bunch though.

Okay, but my point is that there is nothing on tape or in his stats that suggests he is the best of the bunch. He might have a strong arm and good size but so did Jamarcus Russell, Jeff George, Jay Cutler, etc., etc.

And Reuben Foster has been charged with felony domestic assault.
He needs to be cut asap, but he was a star in his rookie season so Lynch seems to be reluctant.
The 49ers sub-reddit seems to be totally on board with cutting him loose.

Allen has a career completion percentage of 56 percent. I understand that people love his arm and think that he can be successful, but man, 1st overall? I just don't see it. Even with his big arm, I felt he often struggled to hit his receiver in strides when going deep. A big arm is of no use when there's no accuracy.
He'd be a fantastic fit for teams like the Patriots, Chargers, Steelers or Saints. Learn from a HoF quarterback for two or even three years, work on his game, get ready for the league. But 1st overall?! To Cleveland?! I'd be shocked if that worked out.

Man there were lots of posters at the Raiders message board I frequent that wanted Reggie to pick Foster and plenty who lambasted him for not doing so when Conley ended up only suiting in 2 games because of injury and Foster went on to a decent first season. Now we know why fans aren't GM's.

There also aren't really any examples of QBs with the completion percentage that Allen has going on to be viable starters at the pro level, so if you're Cleveland, you're essentially betting your first overall pick that Allen can be the exception/outlier. Seems colossaly stupid to me.

Cowboys expected to release WR Dev Bryant today, barring an unexpected last-minute change of heart, per @toddarcher and me. But the plan going into meeting that is now underway was to part ways with Bryant.

He can still play but his days of being a number one receiver are over. Watch Gruden and the Raiders reach out for him ha ha ha.

and in typical Dez fashion, he handles it with class. he's throwing coaches and players under the bus saying it is all their fault he was released. what a loser.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley was arrested Sunday morning after he was allegedly found passed out inside a vehicle blocking a highway, according to NFL Network.
The Eagles confirmed Worley's arrest, and later Sunday announced that they'd released Worley.
According to NFL Network, Worley was tased during the 6 a.m. arrest after he allegedly became combative toward police. A gun was also found at the scene, according to the report, which added that the incident occurred near the Eagles' team facility.
Worley was traded to the Eagles by the Panthers in March in a deal that sent wide receiver Torrey Smith to Carolina.

As a cowboys fan I could not be happier that Bryant is gone. I have no time for WR's who drop passes in big games, and throw tantrums on the side lines.
I would love to see them pick a guy like D.J. Moore in the second round to try and replace Dez as a deep threat. Granted moore will likely be long gone by pick 50.

I now think Cleveland should take Barkley #1, and then Darnold or Mayfield at #4.

That would be a smart thing to do. Lets see what the Browns do.

Broncos release CJ Anderson today so they are obviously looking at a RB or two in the draft. I'm never going to be confused with a champion of the players but why couldn't the Broncos and Cowboys (Bryant) had cut these guys at the beginning of free agency? Now both of them will have to play 2019 on a reduced salary compared to if they were available at the beginning of free agency.

Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen and Baker Mayfield all have grades of at least 90 on Scouts Inc., the first time in 15 years that four QBs in same Draft grade that high: Scouts Inc. QB Grades, 2018 Darnold, USC 94 Allen, WYO 92 Rosen, UCLA 92 Mayfield, OKLA 91

The last time it happened, in 2004, three teams wound up very happy. Three future Hall of Fame quarterbacks went in the top 11 picks, with Eli Manning landing with the New York Giants, San Diego winding up with Philip Rivers after drafting No. 4 and Pittsburgh getting Ben Roethlisberger at No. 11.
