Ridiculous to say he left his feet in advance, nor did he stick out his elbow in advance. Morrissey cant be cruising across the middle of the ice and not expecting someone to stand him up, which is what happened here.

If your going to (illegally) make such a a severe call because a coach whines, to kick a player out and give a team a 5 min PP, you need to look at a play like this frame by frame. Zero elbow, zero leaving the feet, zero intent to do anything but make a hit.

You can provide all the screenshots and video proof you want, the league will do whatever it wants and my bet is Pospisil gets suspended. Rarely do we come out on the right side of league decisions. Like Coleman and his "kicking motion" against the golden childs team

Okhotiuk really struggled today. That sequence where he gave the puck away and then took a penalty on Scheifele was the turning point after Toffoli scored on the powerplay for the lead. The Flames were playing well and had passed the Jets in shots and the giveaway was completely without pressure.

Wolf was pretty good and didn't give up any soft ones imo.

Weegar was awesome handling the puck and his goal was a beauty.

Embrace the losses I guess.

Flames looked good while losing. Jets and Kings are gonna be easy pickings for whoever's playing them in the first round.

Where are those tanks dammit!

A hit resulting in contact with an opponent’s head where the head was the main point of contact and such contact to the head was avoidable.

The elbow/charging conversation isn’t what makes the hit illegal or legal.

Was contact with the head avoidable? That could be debated. Was it the main point of contact? It looks from a distant to possibly be, and given that the refs reviewed it I imagine they had an angle that showed it was.

Pospisil’s (well earned) reputation makes me think it could possibly be a suspension. The lack of injury probably weighs into it though, and could mean no suspension.

Martin Pospisil: 5 minute major and a game misconduct for elbowing

I don’t think that hit is even a penalty.

Popsicle deserved his suspension so maybe will get reputation calls.

The effort is there but the talent is lacking. Not enough offensive weapons.

Lots of high danger chances. He played well and made some nice saves. Most of the goals were no chance. The 2nd goal wasn't great, IMO, I thought he over-reacted and over-committed. But that's splitting hairs. He was very good.

I think Wolf needs to calm his feet down a bit , he is fast just overreacting a little at times.

Kuzy looks energized and confident , Line blender in the third with bizarre combinations

nice to see the Refs making up rules on their own that 5 and game needs to be rescinded BS call.

Big zero points yay I guess

Easily the Flames best player in my eyes. Plenty of great saves, allowed nothing low/medium danger get behind him. I feel like some fans need to adjust to having a goalie that isn’t 6’6”. Wolf plays the game very differently than Smith/Markstrom/Vladar out of necessity.

Wolf continues to trend in a positive fashion. Exciting.

Can’t complain. Exciting game with some wild momentum swings. Wolf was great. Nice to see him battling more to see pucks through traffic.

Vilardi was the best player on the ice. That has to be a franchise altering trade for both the Jets and Kings. Winnipeg being an unfavourable destination kind of helps them by forcing trades that seem to work out more than often. Here’s hoping the Flames rebuild sees a lot of these good asset management moves.
