If Brodie was a UFA I think this looks better. Seems like more quantity going back for a top 3 D.

The age to become a UFA is 29. Both Brodie and Matheson would be RFAs as they will be 28 and 24 after the roll-over. Would he Caps GM make either of these trades if he thought they were RFAs with lower cap hits? Probably not.

hmmmmmmmm I knew Matheson was an RFA, so that doesn't change anything for me there.

Now knowing Brodie is a RFA however changes things a bit, but I also expect is rating to drop next year.

Brodie is still gonna be expensive and he will need a 3 yr deal, and with the way he played this year his future is unknown. He could be signed to an expensive deal and his career may still go down the drain

I guess what I'm saying is I don't think I could get much more in a trade elsewhere. To me, the only alternative is to keep him and hope that he maintains a favourable rating in the sim.

With that said, with the direction I want my team to go now, I don't think I want to keep him.
