Pretty stunning one for Howard Stern fans...Ralph Cirella has died at 58. Part of the show for 35 years maybe?
I just came here to post that, and wasn't sure how many of us here would be interested. Honestly, Ralph was kind of a gear-grinder for me, but that's part of what made him so great on that show. I feel like it was a character in a lot of sense. Can't believe he died so young though, as he was in his 50's.
Huge Stern fan over here, now that I think about it I may I've listened to every single show since 2003.
I liked Ralph when he would call in, always a #### stirrer and never got offended, he understood what made the show interesting. Really unfortunate that he didn't take care of himself.

Damn that’s very sad. Still quite young, no mention of the specific illness. Definitely my favourite character on Brooklyn 99 and a stellar career overall. He’ll be missed.

Everyone knows and loves his work on Brooklyn 99, and to a lesser extent, Men of a Certain Age.
But to me, his work on Homicide: Life on the Street will live in infamy.
Seriously, it's an incredible and avante garde series, especially due to the fact it was on network television, and not something like HBO. It was from David Simon, who went on to write/produce The Wire. If you're a fan of that show, you must check out its predecessor.
Here's a fun clip of the detective describing being in "The Box". Andre Braugher crushes it here, and he's got some scenes in this series that will live forever...I just can't find them on youtube at the moment.

I remember him from Glory and a short-lived show called Hack from 20 years ago. Such a terrific character actor that was underappreciated for years. Rest in peace.
