Really? Available information? Training camps have started and no contract. Seems available information indicates he's worth less than league minimum. He has no offers. No one wants him! When are the fanboys going to clue in? Not even an invite to a PTO. Iginla should announce his retirement and save the embarrassment. He's done and he's every team in the league knows it. Sad to see a great player hang on to long.

lol, why do you insist on embarrassing yourself with regard to this topic? You've proven over and over you're absolutely unhinged when it comes to discussing this, and you have several tirades before you end up admitting you should just ignore the thread(s). Why continue to do this?

You have no idea what offers he has or hasn't had and for how much.

Just like Jagr, he might be only receptive to certain geographic areas / a minimum number or he'll consider hanging them up.

We (and especially you) have no idea what he's thinking and what interest there's been.

Why don't you just ignore this topic? It's honestly a WhereruChrisOsullivan / Ricardow level dissconect with you and this subject.

I could see an Edmonton trade destination in March as a reasonable possibility if he signs with someone like Boston and they don't have a good season.

I'd love to see:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Frolik - Backlund - Lazar
Tkachuk - Bennett - Iginla
Versteeg - Jankowski - Brouwer
Stajan, Hamilton

1st PP Unit:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Brouwer
Brodie - Versteeg

2nd PP Unit:
Iginla - Bennett - Tkachuk
Giordano - Hamilton

I think he's done. Great career. Probable HHOF.

He's set up financially. He can kick back and be a Hockey Dad. Maybe not go out at the top, but before it becomes embarrassing.

Great run, Jarome! That's your take-away.

Was listening to boomer and Warrener this morning and they were having the discussion about the loss of Engallend. The idea was what he brought to the team is now gone and has not really been replaced yet. That being the ability to get into a scrum and command some respect. He can escalate the stuff between whistles or calm them down in certain situations.

They also talked about how there seems to be at least some desire from management to bring in some grit to the team as evidenced by the PTOs like Glass and Gazdic.

I agree that Engelland's presence could be missed on the team as a respected gritty veteran who will stand up for his team mates. I also believe that Iginla could fill that role while providing some secondary scoring options. I think he would be a much better option than any of the PTO's that are in camp right now. I know it could very well be that iginla doesn't want to come back out west so the point could be mute but I think he could make a great fit for this team if he was willing to return.

I may be wrong but I just have a feeling he's going to play this year. Can't help but wonder if part of the holdup - especially at his age - is if he wants to skip the rigors of training camp a bit. The ol' strategic signing closer to the end of TC move to miss most of that grind.

Look at those lines - you roll all 4. "1st line, 2nd line, 3rd line" these things mean very little. Look at how Gully deploys his defensive pairings in 5v5 play, they play nearly identical minutes and special teams is where the extra minutes come into play.

I think Iggy is just planning to sit out the slow start portion of the season.
