After Cable was hired by the Raiders a few of my Seahawks friends were chirping. Yeah not an inspiring hire but only two days later the news of the Hawks hiring KNJ as their defensive coordinator and talk about karma. I'll take Cable over KNJ any day as he was the worst defensive coordinator I have seen in the NFL since Chuck Bresnahan. I get that Carroll wants a puppet coach that he can get to run his defense but the problem with KNJ is that he can't get guys prepared to play. The Raiders have had some awful defenses over the years but I don't remember one where so many players were out of position, confused where to line up, and plain soft. The Raiders defense immediately improved from amongst the worst in the league to top 15 in the weeks after the firing and that was achieved despite a lot of backups and players off the practice roster filling in for injured starters. This hiring may mean the end of the Carroll era in Seattle.

Todd Haley is out in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are allowing their offensive coordinator to walk, sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Wednesday. Technically, it's not a firing as Haley's contract expired after the season, bringing his successful six-year run with the team to an end.

I'm so freaking happy right now.

Depends on the extent of the tear. Some writers were discussing this after Wentz tore his, but Adrian Peterson's recovery a few years back has really skewed fans perceptions of how long it takes to recover from a torn ACL. The standard is still around 9 months to be able to start practicing again, and anywhere from another 1-3 months from there to get back into game shape. All told it's around a year from the point of surgery to being back to 100%. AP was a freak.

This was why I was so bummed about the Wentz injury. Not only does it have a chance to sewer the Eagles' Super Bowl hopes this year, but he's also likely not back until the middle of 2017 and who knows what our record will be at that point.

looks like they'll promote QB coach Randy Fichtner.

Ben will love this. I wouldn't be surprised if he played a couple more years now.

I remember when Steelers fans hated on Bruce Arians for being a lousy OC. You guys will grow to hate this guy in the years too. In the mean time Tomlin will continue to get a care blanche for his game managing gaffes.

Todd Haley hired by the Browns as OC.

Good hire for them IMO with the biggest part of this being Haley will become the play caller, taking that duty away from Hue Jackson.

I expect them to be much better than last year, even though its impossible to be any worse record wise.

Really dont get how Jackson is still employed there.
There is an argument for coaching continuity as opposed to the carousel, but come on, he is not the guy to do that with.

Ryan Shazier has been released from the hospital and will continue his rehab in outpatient care.
