As for Edmonton radio, I really really wish there was some proof of the “burn your Flames stuff” event after the SCF was over, sponsored by an Edmonton radio station, for Oiler fans who jumped ship and cheered for the Flames in 2004.
I believe I saw the clip on the news, but lost likely in cyberspace long ago.
That said, in the early 2000s, tone deaf media outlets here encouraged us to cheer for the Oilers as Alberta’s team when they made the playoffs in 2001. Beyond pathetic.
If that billboard actually gets put up, EPS may as well just station an officer there 24/7. It is far from a stretch that one or many of those mouth breathing fans will vandalize it, and even well within the realm that someone will use a firearm on it.

Edmonton fans are going to retaliate by spending half of Edmonton’s GDP putting up billboards of turtles in Calgary. Little do they know that turtles are on our side and are our good luck charms.

I'm reading the venom that is being spat this guy's way on twitter, and it is really sad to see so much hate for someone just having fun. Like personal attacks and over the line comments. I know it's fun to joke it's just salty Edmontonians, but really, this is just sad as a human too.
