Good. Get that garbage out of the game. I was watching it with my buddy from China who never watches hockey. When that happened I was upset and he said "thats part of hockey though, no?"

No, no it's not. Thats assault.

Can the Flames request that any suspension be waived?

I want this chud on the ice to get laid out by Tkachuk, punched by Lucic, and then scored on again.

Maybe the game officials need a hearing.
How did you not see 2, 5 and a misconduct?

Typical coddling of the Oilers.

No thanks. Seriously, I wish they would throw him out of the game before he seriously hurts or possibly even kills someone. When this guy loses it he has zero control on what he is doing. He is a psychopath.

Personally don't think he should get anything. I loved the hits from Tkachuk, I loved the ballistic Kassian reaction, I loved the trash talk after the game from both of them (and especially Rasmus).

Last night was exactly the type of gamesmanship and hate that this Battle (and NHL in general) has been missing. It was entertaining as hell.

I strongly disagree. How anyone can love watching a guy lose control and start beating a guy from behind is beyond me. That kind of crap can end careers.

I know Tkachuk can be a real ####### to play against but I dont think you can let Kassian's pummeling of a defenseless player go unpunished.

pretty shocked Caveman didn't get a game misconduct frankly... NHL sees that the same way and are looking to correct that error

It honestly reminded me of the Bertuzzi incident. Can't let that #### go.

He should get minimum 5 and with the threat of retaliation? I'll be surprised if it isn't

It was assault, full stop. Horsecollaring someone to the ice and wailing on the back of their head is completely out of the realm of acceptable behavior.

I'm interested in the explanation the officials gave their superiors in why he only received a double minor for that.

The crazy reaction is all fun and games to an extent, but Kassian crossed that line with how many shots and for how long he was wailing on a defenceless player IMO. At first it was funny, but reality is Tkachuk could’ve been really hurt (think concussion) between all the haymakers at his head and the flinging him around onto the ice.

Didn’t like the HNIC panels excusing of it, and glad to see the league is going to look at it.

Question, is this hearing the one where he has an option of an in person, and how long a suspension can they give if they don’t give that option?

It’s very clearly 2 for instigating, 5 for fighting, 2 for fighting/playing without a helmet, and a game misconduct.

You could argue another penalty probably, but those 9 minutes plus a game should have been pretty much non negotiable.

The penalties were not correctly called for sure.

What bugs me more than that or even seeing the cavemen fans show their true colors is that the linesman let it go so long.

They are jumping in on fights between two willing combatants these days and they let kassian throw 10+ punches from behind.

I agree with the bertuzzi comparison. If tkachuk has a serious injury this would be headline news around the world and the nhl would find itself in the middle of another black eye/lawsuit

Should've been five minute major and a game misconduct. That would've gotten the Flames a major powerplay and Kassian enough time in the back to finally create fire.
