I am not concerned about Markstrom, he'll be fine.
But the bottom line right now is that the Flames have been out-goaltended at times, and they are not getting any help from the goaltending at all.
The team is good enough to win anyway, but it can't be argued that goaltending has been a strength so far.

What is LaBarbera working on with him? We know coaching makes a difference look at Daryl. We know Markstrom has the ability to be lights out. What is the goalie coach doing to prepare Markstrom and in-between periods when he sees him playing deep in the net etc. I'm not absolving the defence in front of Marky but he hasn't been himself so far this year. He looks about as good as Vladar tbh for 3x the cap.

Flames were fighting the puck all night. How many passes were bobbled or players over skating the puck?
Buffalo had their forwards cheating on offense which would create an extremely quick transition. They could easily gain the zone as a result. On our side we would struggle to get the puck into the zone or even deep.
Was hard to watch and not get frustrated.
My biggest concern was the amount of Grade A chances Buffalo was generating, especially in the high slot off these plays. I can't lay any blame on the goaltending when we were giving up so many chances. I would have liked to see Marky playout the game but the forwards and defense needed a HUGE wake call. We got that with Vladar and line shake ups, but we still were fighting it all night.

I'm sorry, what is it you are not buying? That a goalie coming off a significant injury is likely to have that affect his play until he is more fully recovered?
There really isn't anything to dispute, here. Markstrom suffered a head injury; he was not just banged up with normal in-season wear and tear.

What about after suffering a concussion in a short season?
Like GioforPM said, I think they rushed him back too soon to try and save the season. By the time he was starting to get over it they didn't have enough time to save the season. He acted like it wasn't a factor and he was fine but I think we all can agree he doesn't like making excuses for himself.
He's been pretty ordinary so far but really the only bad goal he's let in was the first goal against Vegas. But the Flames' season is only 8 days old and he's only played 3 games so it's way too soon to jump on him. Especially when the team is 3-1 and not 1-3 or 0-4.

He could be rounding back into the .912 SV% goaltender that he's been most of his career.

He has played on a good team for one season of his career...take career numbers with a grain of salt

Yeah, I know it’s not exactly the same kind of scenario but Darryl still has the ability to ruin his career by not putting him in the lineup (if injury concerns don’t limit that decision) and by severely limiting his ice time when he’s in the lineup. That’s all I was referencing. For whatever reason, Darryl can take a disliking to a player and that’s the end of him, fair or not.

I don't know. Sutter was extremely publicly critical of Dube after his first year, but then also worked closely with him because he knew just how good he can be. It is a little early, I think, to be worrying about Mackey's long-term future under a demanding coach.

From the ATL:
Question:
Quote:
Is there a reason Kadri’s line isn’t the #1 line?
That line has consistently seemed more dominant since game 1 this season

Answer: We have two #1 lines

Hello - I just remembered this bet for some reason, wanted to point out that the best Montreal can finish is 15 points out of a playoff spot right now, so this bet has been won by dino7c.

Damn! He bet on the wrong horse. If he bet on any other team in the division, he'd have got Dino. Mr Coffee's original point was that the Atlantic Division was strong and if he bet on something like total combined points of the Division, that's an easy W
