If they can make it work with the cap, this team will be good

that defense is awful

Ceci and especially Dermott are NHLers everywhere
Dermott was fantastic last year
That defense looks pretty good but it will prob look more like
Rielly - Barrie
Muzzin - Dermott
Harpur - Ceci

Help, save, whatever.
|
At first I didn't like this deal but it seems Kerfoot has pretty solid numbers.
I looked online and he's a centreman right?

Dermotts out until Christmas I believe...need the others to go injury free because to me that looks soft...

He is but I think he's played mostly wing lately

Avs are significantly better right now in my opinion
They also turned an expiring contract into a reasonable 3 year pact for Kadri
|
I don’t see Kadri + Bellemare as a big time upgrade over Soderberg + Kerfoot.

It feels like the Avs have been trying to trade Barrie for years. Finally they got the deal they were looking for I guess.

Burakovsky is a winger. Stats say otherwise anyway.

Agree on the first...disagree on the 2nd. Washington has been rumored to try and dump Burakovsky for 2 years. I really liked what Kerfoot brought in the playoffs and regular season.
Avs aren't much better in terms of personnel. However their strength will come through internal improvement and cap flexibility. They will definitely be one of our key rivals as this window opens for both teams.

I don’t like it for Colorado. The salary retained is ugly.

They can more than afford it though, and it's only one year. It won't limit them

Doesn’t mean he couldn’t/wouldn’t have been used at C for 2019-2020.

Okay. Burakovsky is still a better player. Also will likely be line 2. Kerfoot would have been behind McKinnon and Kadri.

Burakovsky doesn't move the needle at all for me. Very ineffective perimeter player who produces less offense than Sam Bennett.
Colorado is no good

I hate to say it, but I think this trade makes both Colorado and Toronto better.

Is he? I’d like to see the metrics. Production wise I don’t see it.
Burakovsky:
2018 56GP 12G 13A 25PTS
2019 76GP 12G 13A 25PTS
Kerfoot:
2018 79GP 19G 24A 43PTS
2019 78GP 15G 27A 42PTS
How could Kerfoot ever be behind Kadri? They were traded for each other.
