Added a depth forward picking up Nick Foligno who gives us another option at wing to test out up and down the lineup. He'll likely start out the season providing solid leadership to the young bucks on the 4th line.
Upon hearing the news that he was traded from the Islanders and would no longer be getting 1st/2nd line minutes: "At least we will win hockey games".

Depends on how many other players retire from the roster, though. Byfuglien, Bouwmeester and Williams are all on the potential retirees. Would suck if now they do so, since I’ll have all the cap space, and no one to use it on, or even weaponize it to get some picks. Oh well. It is what it is.

Post UFA Round 4 our roster has pretty much been finalized. I went into UFA with zero goalies so I am thrilled to add to the 2 goalies above at their respective contracts. Bobs seems to alternate good and bad years so hopefully he can rebound next season. I did lose some depth with recent trades but have managed to add a top prospect in Lucas Raymond who will haunt Curtis for years to come. We also continue to keep several firsts in 2022 as the organization maintains its focus on the future.
I am hoping to add a 2nd pairing D and 3rd line forward but that will likely happen after the first 1-2 months of the regular season.

Depth took a hit with my off-season moves, but if I choose to, I should have more than enough ammo to improve during the season, if the team warrants it.
I like the top line, but I think my 2nd is weak. Lots of youth (average age is 25.91) which the sim hates.

Crash and Bang Winger
|
Some highlights this off-season, brought in Point, Kane, & Dunn, sent out Drouin, PLD, & Maatta. Sold off Kreider & Severson off for picks/prospects. Still waiting on a lot of youth to make the jump.
We like our top line, defense and goaltending going forward. But our depth is still the major drawback, hoping some ahlers/prospects can take some steps forward this year.
Overall we're hoping to improve from 2nd last in the west, might be tough as the pacific division is looking pretty good this year.
