Don't forget this is Hockey's Future. He'll be lucky if he hangs on to 8th.

Erixon had an assist and was +2 in Sweden's 6-2 rout of the Americans at the World Championship. Mikael Backlund didn't play.
Sweden finishes first in their group and kind-of lucks out on the next round's seeding: they face France, Switzerland and Canada.

He was dressed and on the bench however.
I dont see why the coach didnt give him a shift or two when they were up 5-2 and 6-2 late in the game..

Those last three games won't be needed. Kootenay seems to be quite capable of sweeping .
In all honesty, this could be their toughest series yet. Especially with Neidereider, Rattie, and Johanssen. However, they did beat the Blades who were the 2nd best team in the CHL this season.

TSN is showing that Erixon didn't get an assist. Either way he was +2 in the game.
I was also surprised to see Steffan Kronwall playing on the national team.

Winterhawks have a lot of problems though. Discipline as a whole lacks on the team and the top 10 players or so can be hot and cold (Nino is the closest thing to consistency and he has a cold spell recently). They are capable of being lit up.

It's another week of hockey!
TONIGHT: Max Reinhart, Joey Leach and the Kootenay Ice host Game 3 of the WHL Championship series against the Portland Winterhawks.
TOMORROW: Mikael Backlund, Tim Erixon and Team Sweden play the surprisingly-great Team Germany in World Hockey Championship quarter-final action. Also: Game 4 of the WHL Finals.
FRIDAY: If Sweden wins, their semi-final would be Friday morning.

Surprisingly yes. Though rheinhart stepped up big time and is an obvious candidate, i'm more impressed with the play of Michael Ferland and Tim Erixon. Both guys are monsters physically and Ferland seems to have found his touch being a PPG player this year.
If he can take the next step and dominate the dub as a 19 year old we may have a gem on our hands here. As for Erixon, I hope he makes the flames and he should be able to push for a spot this coming year. He's a guy that would be a perfect candidate to be a 6/7 d man for a cap troubled team like ours. I'd also argue he's more of an asset then us bringing back mikkelsson or carson.

I will anticipate that Erixon will make more than say a Pardy or some other 5-7th D-man (not named Staois!). 1st round draftee with apparently loads of potential. His cap hit will be good, but definitely not 'cheap' per se. I do want him to make the team ahead of Mikelsson, Pardy, Carson (though I like Carson), etc., but his cap hit should be higher than their's (though I haven't checked Mikelsson's contract).
I would also prefer Erixon play on the Heat than as a 7th D.
I am pretty sure he will make it, however - if not straight out of camp, then at some point through the season. I think Brodie MIGHT make it as well - 2 young guys, but only if one of them plays in the top 4.
