You’ll struggle to find anyone who drinks beer on this forum. The team has me on hard liquor and cleaning products.
Seriously though, good luck, I’ll be looking out for it in Calgary next April.
Just rebooked again for the third time with WestJet

Curious, how does the contract brewing game work - do you get to be involved in the actual process(ie physically adjusting things) or do you just specify ingredients/timing/etc?
|
Yeah the recipe's are ours and we can be onsite for brewing to provide input (or could be pre covid) but they scale the recipe to their system and do the actual brewing. We meet after to discuss and go over the process/recipe and tweak if needed. We're responsible for all other aspects of the process as well, labels, cans, freight etc. and any ingredients that fall outside of their core ingredients that they use. An example is our Ridge IPA uses a yeast type they don't use so we have to source it ourselves which involves overnight shipping in ice packs from Quebec. Contract brewing does limit some of the stuff we can do, the main painpoint is that we can't sell our beer ourselves directly, everything has to go through Liquor Connect, which sucks.

New beer alert...this one was just canned yesterday and will start hitting liquor stores next week. Pretty proud of this one and got in touch with several veterans of Afghanistan in researching for the label/story. Oh and the beer is good too. Its a bit hoppy so you mainstream beer folks might wanna stick to the Pilsner but this one is well balanced with hops and citrus flavour.

I love everything about this. You are doing a fantastic job with your artwork and marketing and the military tie-in is great. If I were a beer drinker I would be buying this for sure. Any chance you're considering releasing any non-alcoholic versions?
You mentioned getting involved with Spin For A Veteran a couple pages back - if that's something you want to do then DM me and I can put you in touch with the organizers.

Tried a couple of non-alcoholic beers, turns out that they are tricky to make (at least so that they taste good), and with so many options available already we probably won't be making one of those anytime soon unfortunately.

Picked up the Pilsner and NEIPA, didn't see any of the pale ale sadly. Can't wait to crack one open tonight.
Passed on the stout, far too hot for that!

I picked up some Ridge and Peril at Safeway Liquor Store in South Lethbridge. I had previously tried Ridge and really enjoyed it so I'm trying out Peril tonight. I was only going to have one tonight. I'll be having a second.

I don't post on the forum near as much as I used to as its become so busy but I just wanted to pop back in to this thread to say thanks to everyone who has spent their money and tried our beer thus far. I really appreciate it and hopefully it was good enough to give another try.
Little update, we recently participated in the "Zoo Brews" event a couple of weekends ago, it was great to have so many people try out product as we've only been around since Covid hit so getting out to get people to know us has been an issue. We're signed up for Beerfest in Calgary and Edmonton as well, both will be in October. If anyone is planning on attending any of these, please pop by our booth and mention Calgary Puck.

To figure out which seemingly innocuous questions correlate with the most revealing ones, OkCupid looked at its database of millions of answers to the more than 275,000 match questions it asks users answer when they first join the service.
The site flagged the questions that users ranked as the least significant (figuring those would be the least intrusive ones to ask on a first date) and then determined how they correlate with the more soul-searching, personal questions.
The site found that whether someone likes the taste of beer is the best predictor of if he or she will have sex on the first date.
"No matter their gender or orientation, beer-lovers are 60 percent more likely to be OK with sleeping with someone they've just met," OkCupid said in its blog post on the topic.

Drinking some Fighting Season right now, I recognized the label from this thread and knew I had to give your stuff a try.
Really enjoyed it. Like how balanced the hops are, flavourful without being strong.
Looking forward to having more
