The Disney D23 fan expo is this weekend in Anaheim. We could be getting new information/trailers for The Mandalorian and Episode IX.

That's a spiffy looking knife! I regret not getting a nice knife when I was in Japan.

Looks good! But, I didn’t think that freezing dudes in carbonite was actually an established bounty hunter thing. Just something Vader was opportunistic about using when he saw it at Cloud City — they weren’t even sure Han would survive.

Yeah, I was thinking that too when I saw that.

My understanding is that The Mandalorian takes places in the years following the fall of the Empire, so it's possible that the practice became more common after they heard about how well it worked with Han.

Yup, pretty sure I remember reading that it takes place sometime after the events in Return of the Jedi.

Ah okay, I thought it was before the OT. It can make some sense then.

In Clone Wars they used carbon freezing to smuggle the Jedi and Clone Troopers into a separatist prison. Anakin was one of them, so he knew it was possible.

That trailer looks amazing we get a glimpse of IG-88 and Death Troopers so the Empire is still around.

Yeah. That trailer looks great. Similar vibe to rogue one, which is by far the best Disney star wars stuff.

That's a lot of dismembered troopers and baddies in that trailer.

I'd imagine as the empire's power dwindled, people would start taking more liberties.

Hello there...

The Obi-Wan series will be set about 7 years after Revenge of the Sith.

The Mandalorian will be about 5 years after Return of the Jedi.

Reports from the D23 expo say that footage from the movie was shown (not sure if it was a full trailer or not) and it ends with a shot of Rey in a dark cloak holding a double-bladed RED lightsaber.

Still nothing online.
