Default Video Baby Monitor

For those of you who have experience with these, what video baby monitor do you recommend? This is a rabbit hole with no end in sight. It seems like EVERY monitor has negative aspects.

We'd ideally like 2 cameras, a dedicated monitor, and good night vision.

Lay it on me!

Make sure it has good security as baby video monitors are some of the easiest to hack.

After going through 2 kids with a video monitor, I can safely say that it doesn't even remotely matter.

We found that having video is useless; you are going to go check on them based on sound anyways.

Lol @ hacking a baby monitor. If you want to watch my kid sleep, more power to you.

When we looked it was a balance between good battery life or a good image quality. We went with image quality and the battery runs out in 3-4 hours. That being said its almost always plugged in.

We use a nest cam in the babies room. Works great.

We bought a security camera that just plugs into the wall outlet and connects to your wifi and you can watch through your phone app. The night vision is very good and you can talk back to it (which we don't use).

It's also nice because I can check at home when I'm at work if we want to use it as a security camera.

I found it was more finicky to set up but once you get it working it's fine. A lot cheaper than the route my sister went. She bought those baby video monitors and it was like over $200+. My security camera cost me $~40-50.

We have had 2 Motorola wireless (not wifi) ones. They both have been great.

The old one messed up our wifi on 2.4G band quite a bit, but the new one doesn't at all. Have been using them for about 5 years now.

I think the model we got earlier this year goes on sale for $169 sometimes.

EDIT: This one should work well and is on sale for Black Friday

Yep, we have the motorola one, single camera. No complaints and works great- battery last forever it seems. Easy to pack up and set up if you are elsewhere overnight. Very good range and night vision.
