Given that she is on record saying there may be adjustments to the legislation I'd say the odds are pretty good it will be changed.

Jason Markusoff over at CBC Calgary had a good article on the feasibility of getting Red Deer to the million. Even snuck a Spaceballs reference into the article.

Red Deer next 1mil, will see large investment? She's really trying to look after her constituents in her Brooks-Med Hat riding eh.

They're all going to be scrambling to keep their jobs in not too long. Whether that's by pandering to the electorate in all manners possible, or by trying to dissociate themselves from the mess it's all been so far remains to be seen.
I think pandering requires some level of actual competence and understanding, so my bet is on the latter - a bunch of finger pointing and infighting.

If it ever get practical enough to recall a mayor it will be practical enough to recall a premier.

Recalling a Premiere is in some ways easier, you just have to recall him/her as an MLA in their riding not province wide, technically we don't vote for premiere. But on the other hand more difficult since they typically run in a "safe" riding where it would be hard to get 50% of the population opposed.

I guess we are no longer "Part of the Energy", Calgary is now going to be "Blue Sky City". Just try to remember that when we are blanketed in forest fire smoke...

I think they should approach Midnight Oil to change the lyrics to Blue Sky Mine for this. It practically writes itself!
"And some have sailed from a distant shore
And the city takes what the city wants
And nothing's as precious, as the oil in the ground"

Totally OT, but that album had some bangers on it.

Town of Banff just seems to have achieved an effective petition campaign against the car-free main drag in the summer
