They are brilliant right off my deck in airdrie. One of the few bonuses to living in airdrie.

They were quite brilliant as I was driving in the south up NB Deerfoot. Now that I am at home in the NW, I can see where they are, but nit nearly as bright. Which seems weird, because there isn't that much light pollution up here as down by Glenmore and Deerfoot.

Last night up here in the Wainwright area was crazy for Northern Lights. Midnight to around 3 they are so thick the sky was green. then for about an hour around 1 a.m they danced like I've never seen before. Awesome light show last night.

I only saw green. And they were gone right after I posted. Glad some one else saw them!

Still visible from Cougar Ridge. Just greens, but still awesome.

Just wondering if anybody in the know has any idea how the sun's magnetic pole flip will be impacting the northern lights, if at all.

Does anyone know how easy it is to predict Northern Lights?
I would be willing to jump in a car and start driving North on a Saturday if I thought I had a good chance of a great show.
With a weekend off I could make it to the Territories for the night but would hate to drive that far for nothing.

Supposed to be a decent show tonight for a big chunk of the country.
