Since the injury to my finger i've had to change the way I grip my clubs. It was a suggestion from GP who is a golfer also. Anyway i've always used an interlock grip so I tried a baseball one with not much success and ended trying the overlap grip. The interesting part was I found the overlap grip to be a better grip and will continue to use it when the finger injury heals.
I can't hit the ball as far and I don't have the same consistancy as before the injury but to be able to still play has been a blessing. Plus my golfing buddies have been realy helpful.

I just read that the owners, Clublink, of Glen Abbey is planning on ripping up the course to build a residential and commercial development. That seems crazy. I've never been out there but I thought it was one of the most iconic courses in Canada.

It's a nice course, but the Canadian Open/PGA Tour has pretty much outgrown it.
Unfortunately, I think it's time to move on.

Played Inglewood yesterday.
I get why golf courses do it, but boy is it a piss off that you get a tee time and go out to play and they don't tell you that 2 holes are closed and you only can play 16 holes.
Thankfully I wasn't paying, but I would have just left if I was.

That's terrible. They didn't tell you when you checked in??
Lame.

So have retailers stopped doing end of the year blow out sales? I use to see them all the time around September/October, the last two seasons I haven't really seen anything.
I guess they're following the lead of all major retailers in deceiving customers into the idea that there's always an "amazing" deal to be had and forgoing or majorly neutering the old fashioned one or two "blow outs" per year that people would typically wait for?

It would seem so. Around Christmas it used to be standard that they would put apparel on sale for 40-50% off to clear it out, but they don't do that anymore.

Speargrass was still in really good shape when I was there on holiday Monday. I think they got their new carts near the end of September.
Which courses are still open?

Everything I've read about the AVX is that it is very similar to Chrome Soft only more expensive.
But yes, I'd like to play one too.
The Vice Pro/Pro + is a really nice ball for the price.

I've been testing a few different balls this year as I'm down to my last box of Nike RZN Tour Platinum. The Chrome Soft is at the top of my list. I love the feel off every club! My only complaint is I believe I'm losing some distance. I'm noticing it a bit more with the colder weather.
I have a box of each Vice Pro/Pro + left. I do like them but not a fan of its durability. I do wanna try their Pro Soft but the coloured ones are always out of stock.

The only difference I can feel is the cover is a little less soft in the hands, but it doesn’t appear to affect play at all.

You are probably going to be dealing with courses coming out of overseed. I'd call around and see if they did overseed and when they opened. They will likely be Cart Path Only with wet fairways and slow greens.
You'd want them to be open at least three weeks in a perfect scenario.
Check Golf WRX for a Palm Springs thread, that would have the most up to date info.
