I watched Pirri enough in Florida to second what Cobra said. Pirri's shot is his only saving grace. Other than that he's a deficient player at the NHL level in nearly every category.

Sharks probably can't afford full boat on Pavelski, but how can TB? Makes me think he is sticking toe in water with another contender with a tight cap situation as a direct comparable to San Jose's situation to see how much of a discount he should take with the sharks.

They have just under 17M in cap with Callahan on the LTIR. Even if Point gets the majority of that, let's say they have maybe 7-8M to play around with. If they fill their last roster spot with a defensive prospect, Erne and Pacquette aren't going to get much. Leaving them with about 5M to sign 3 forwards. So not quite enough to make a big splash with Pavelski.
But if they move one of their mid-contracts, like Johnson at 5M, they would be able to sign Pavelski and get back whatever assets they received for Johnson.
It's quite a bit different situation with San Jose who will be struggling to fill out their roster even without Pavelski. Meier, Labanc and Thornton would require some nice accounting to come in at under 10M. That's 4M left to sign 5 players to get to the 23 man roster. And they don't have obvious players they could or would move to keep Pavelski.
And finally, all other things equal, the tax rate for Pavelski is significantly different between California and Florida.

I'll say it again with $14mm in space and 15 player roster offer sheet Meier if we can offload Frolik & brodie

Don't forget that the Sharks threw an offer sheet on Hjalmarsson just to mess with Chicago back in the day as well.

We simply can’t be in the offer sheet game until Tkachuk is signed and even then I don’t see the space available.

Watch Colorado exact revenge on the Flames for the RoR offer sheet by taking a huge run and Tkachuk on July 1

Flames need to look in the bargain bin for a potential RW replacement for Lindholm if they plan on moving him to C. That's about all they can afford.
Justin Williams
Brett Connolly
Jason Pominville
Corey Perry
I wouldn't mind seeing the Flames take a flyer on Pontus Aberg. Speed to burn, still just 25.
EDIT: Also Brett Ritchie, although I don't see him blowing up offensively, but could be a good bottom six RW option with size.

Ritchie can play a physical game. Good size and grit. Would love to see him as a Flame.

Donskoi is the guy that's a great fit IMO.
Good 200ft player, good for 35 points, would fit in perfectly as a middle 6 RWer.
Don't think we have the space for him though. Likely gets around $4M AAV
To add to Hartman and Aberg, other bargin bin type FWDs are Martin Frk and Tomas Hyka. Both are RH, RWs that I wouldn't mind taking a look at for guys that could be 13th fwd / AHL depth.

I think I read a very high number of teams are pursuing him. Which generally means an overpay is incoming

Rishaug reporting that the Flames are interested in Maroon.
https://twitter.com/user/status/1144287212156026880
Not really surprising since I think they have expressed interest in the past.

Maroon makes sense. I think he was close to signing here last year before St. Louis came up. I’d take a flyer on him.

I think guys like Donskoi should be way above the Flames' target radius... guys like Nick Cousins, Riley Sheahan, Brian Gibbons, Tyler Ennis, and Sven Andrighetto should be more in their ballpark.
