You know it's bad when Nygard is their 1st line LW, who would've been our 12th/13th forward.

The defense may look stronger now but really isn't that just because the forward ranks are so much worse.

If there was a fantasy draft where every player was available (with their current cap hit) and every team had to build a 12F, 6D, 1G roster, how many oilers would actually still be in the NHL? 12?

McDavid, Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins, Klefbom, Nurse, Larsson, Russell, Smith, Chiasson?, Granlund?, Koskinen?, Kassian?

8 sure fire NHLers, 4 maybes. That is a pathetic roster.

I don't know if Russell is on my for sure list. On many teams he's a 6-7. He had more games than Benning and fewer points. And as such, who would draft him with his cap hit? I do think some people would include Gagner on a maybe list.

If its 1G then neither Smith nor Koskinen are anyway near that list. Neither is Russell if its 6D.

It's a team of 6 NHL'ers, a couple bubble players and a bunch of trash.

My god. It would be so depressing to be an Oilers fan. It warms my heart.

The Oilers would be better off with a 12 man roster. McDavid and Draisatl are playing half the game anyways, why do they need other players?

Get rid of all the bottom liners and use their cap space to bring in legitimate top line players.

Ouch.

OUCH!

That's an epically bad depth chart.

I can see Granlund on the top line.

That's a 31st place team.

Just realized that yamamoto seems to be buried as well. Also probably not a good thing when a good chunk are waiver fodder.

"Edmonton is No Good: The Original Thread™" came into existence July 28, 2004.

I think we should start planning the 15th Anniversary tribute logo we were talking about earlier.

That lineup is at the point where I start worry about another potential top pick. I mean Christ can't they do any better? I can't stand it if they luck into another 1st overall and a generational talent.

Their roster is basically that of a two year old expansion team. Lol

That’s a roster built to protect themselves from the 2020 expansion draft.

The Oilers will be the first and only team where come draft time from each team, the Seattle GM has looked upon what’s available on the Oilers roster and simply said “i’ll Pass”

Can’t lose any assets when there’s no desirable assets to pick from

Speaking of players taken from the Oilers in an expansion draft, Griffin Reinhart is currently an unsigned UFA after playing a total of zero NHL games for Vegas over the last two seasons.

4 years ago, the Oiler gave up the 16th and 33rd overall picks to acquire him. That's some Grade A Oilers roster management.

Back when it wasn't stupid and a team actually had to work a little to not finish dead last(the youngens might not know what you mean). But yeah, that's about right.

So the last ten years of suck was to avoid both the Vegas and Seattle expansion drafts. It's all coming together now.
