if you are looking to find trails try trailforks.com.

i don't know how to use it to it's fullest potential but it's been very good for plotting a day or so worth of adventure. I have no idea what trails are good or bad but exploring is all part of the fun. There's an app for phones and you can link it to Strava as well.

My app says it takes me over 11 minutes to walk 1 km, going at a good pace. Just over 5 km/h. 7.5 km/h is not quite running, but would be a very fast walking rate.

7.5 kmh is 4.6 mph, which is what most treadmills are measured at. I usually slow down to 3.0 or 3.5 for a very brisk walking pace as recovery, so I'm doubtful that 4.6 is realistic as a walk.

I’ve been doing daily rides. I live near the Shaganappi golf course.

My favourite route is to ride to the top of the Quarry Road Trail (Douglas Fir is the walking trail), coast down the fun tree lined dirt path to the train crossing then ride west to Edworthy. That path is mostly in the trees, and there is a pond along the way with some good photo ops (and a crapload of mosquitoes now). Ride to Edworthy, cross the bridge and then loop back along the north side. Depending on how long you want you can cut back at the Crowchild bridge and then ride up the river valley on the dirt or paved path. The paved is a bit more vertical which gets the heart rate up. That route is 13k. If you want more, ride to the Peace bridge and back.

Second favourite starts the same or down the paved path at 24th st sw to the river. Jump across Crowchild and hear East along the north side and ride to the zoo. Extra fun is getting to ride down the middle of Memorial. At the zoo, cross to the south side, stop off at Spolumbos to pick up post ride lunch, and then ride back west and home the same way. 18-20k depending on how direct you go.
