Well, IMO they are fully entitled to use whatever they want. But if an organized representative group says a team's use is objectionable, that's it for me.

I don't think of planes when I think of warrior. Is here some backstory to the plane?
Edit: After reading I get it I guess, if the Snowbirds are the warriors of the sky as they say.

They were overdue for a re-brand anyway. All of the other concerns aside, the previous logo was visually hideous.

The white part of the new symbol kind of reminds me of the Ultimate Warrior facepaint... just coincidence I imagine (or I make things up that don't exist)..

website said the white part is the snowbirds logo or something. Also the white part on the wings above that are hockey sticks.

Also, I believe the Snowbirds are based in Moose Jaw - so probably more of a nod to the town itself, than any sort of Warrior reference.

I'd rather a nod to the Coney Island Warriors.

It's straight up the underbelly of the planes.

431 Sqn was a bomber Sqn in WW2 and the history is still linked to the Iroqouis. The team still wear the sqn patch on their flightsuits although that is probably on the way out too as they (DND) have been renaming all the native based flights and sqn's.

Hitmen v. Warriors would bring back some real retro WWF vibes.

This is a big departure for Moose Jaw hockey.
I remember when their junior teams were named the Canucks and they wore the Blackhawks colours.
I think they’ve done a good job with this change.
