Yeah, I suppose but I kind of thought getting rid of Dwight would be helpful for him. No more risk of Eugene being seen as the mole by Negan and crew. Unless the lieutenants are all pretty tight and would kill Eugene if he flipped on Dwight.
Also, as an aside given that Eugene is seeing some new depth in his character recently, what are the chances that he is killed off shortly?

A siege works just as well with gun-toting people hemming you in as it does with a swarm of walkers.
I mean, if shooting all the walkers from above was a reasonable strategy, they could easily have done it when the walkers were outside by shooting them all through the windows or from the elevated outside balcony-like areas, e.g. where Eugene was going to launch his little plane from.

They have used enough bullets this season to put a small country in a military deficit.

I don't think he wants to be directly responsible for someones death.

Wasn't he going to do it though before Dwight showed up?

What dries me crazy about the show is how they use CGI for weapon firing. Numerous times last episode you could see the ejection port cover on the C7/AR-15 was closed right after the weapon was "fired", which is impossible.
Invest in some blanks, or have the ejection port cover open, which would simulate shooting the weapon.

Yes, but ratting someone out is much easier when they are not standing next to you. He is a coward and telling Negan when Dwight wasn't there is bang on for a coward, putting his tail between his legs when he shows up is also bang on for a coward.

Oh, maybe, I might have been playing bubble pop while watching and missed a few cues.

Yep. It's no different than discussing a problem employee with your supervisor as nobody wants to do that in front of that person. In a show where so many regular people in a relatively short amount of time have magically turned into martial arts experts, snipers, military grade killing machines, or have lost the ability to speak fluent English, etc, Eugene represents the most realistic depiction of a survivor in the show. In these situations most people turn to self preservation and cowardly behavior when their life is at stake.

So, does Carl die tonight? It'd seem fitting.

We actually haven't seen much of Carl at all, so I'm going with no. It's either Dwight, Eugene or Gabriel, with an outside chance of Morgan or King.

They're saying there will be a major killing, so it seems like a good chance it'll be Carl.

Actually they seem to have made a point of saying "moment". Typically, that means death, but who knows.

I don’t even know what’s going on in this show anymore.

It seems odd that Carl wouldn’t have just let himself get caught by Negan if he knew he was going to turn. I guess they need to deal more delicately with Carl dying with his loved ones than being used as a weapon against Negan.
Also, episodes with Negan >>> episodes without any Negan. Maybe JDM has something in his contract about the quality of writing of episodes he appears in.

No kidding . That was the most disjointed episode on TV I have ever witnessed. I feel like I missed an episode in between...

Was there a large turnover in the writing department this season? Nothing feels coherent this season.

I just finished. I admit I fast forward through a lot of it because.... some of it is painful to watch. Like the two girls loading the bags and armaments. I didn't understand the guy Carl picked up last episode living in the grates. Was there a scene putting him there.
My criticisms of the show is why can't they be intelligent. Why can't they reduce their number of shows to produce a more impactful series. Instead, it meanders and it feels like they have sold out. Anyways, I wanted to see how Carl got bit. I didn't see anyone post here, so i looked it up.
It was not clear in the scene they filmed whether he was bit or not.
