100% of the teams who have McDavid on their team have missed the playoffs 10 years in a row. If that is the price to pay than you can count me out. In no universe is that worth it.

Okay let's not embarrass ourselves here. If McDavid was on the Flames he would be our best player and on the top line.

Why? I don't lose a minute of sleep that your team has been better the last 10 years. Congrats you won the.......wait, what is the award for that? Oh ya...nothing. Don't know how you find enough room in the Saddledome trophy case.

He'd be playing wing in Stockton learning how to be a pro.

I think that your confusing yourself with the Oilers who tend to make trophies or banners for everything from concert acts to fans basically showing up to preseason championship trophies.

Oh and massive draft parties to celebrate the embarrassment of the Oilers.

I don't think that anyone is holding their hands over their heads and carrying around trophies for beating the Oilers year after year after year.

However I did notice that Oiler fans tend to over celebrate this years season series.

Perhaps I should have used fading green text.. Just pointing out he is expected to carry the team in Edmonton and expected to do it all himself. While in Calgary he would more likely be considered to be an important part of the team. No doubt we would still be in the playoffs and Edmonton would not if we had McDavid.......

Were car flags even around the last time the Oilers were in the playoffs? It's been so long I honestly can't remember.

Well if Calgary had car flags in 2004, then Edmonton would probably have them in 2006

Come on guys, give Edmonton some credit. Edmonton knows a thing or two about moral victories, I am sure they had car flags out every time they won the draft.

I'm stoked for Edmonton to make the playoffs. A 3 player team isn't going to do s### in playoff hockey and it means they won't be ruining another top prospect. Hopefully mcdavid steps up his diving because calls don't come as easy.

No trophies, mainly dignity.

Trophies and banners (garth brooks sellouts?) are more up your folks' alley, apparently.

They did actually. I recall seeing a few around the time of the Hall draft.

Taylor vs Tyler was the most discussed topic in Edmonton for about 5 years.

For some reason the concensus shifted abruptly in June 2016.

Oh no. I just remembered their love of shooting silver streamers into the air after playoff wins at Rexall in 2006. I hope they didn't make it into the new rink.

Doesn't matter. Not relevant.

I could see Lucic stepping up big time and being one of their top players with his experience and playing style. I could also see Eberle and RNH crumbling under the increased intensity and pressure. McDavid may get frustrated when he uses his speed to attempt to draw calls (that would be before) but to no avail. That along with being more tightly checked at all times. Can't cut corners in playoffs for the most part. Even playing field and tight hockey which is why I love it. That goes for the gimmicks and 3 on 3 as well. No more. But I'm not worried about the Flames. When the game is on the line they play more confidently, even in continuous 5 on 5, as we saw late in games and OT in 2015. Their problem then was the physicality of big checking teams. Well see how the stretch run goes but I haven't seen them get pushed around the same way this year.
