Saw this on another forum, but it's so good it must be shared.
Now that Harmonix has added keyboards to Rock Band, they have a golden opportunity to pull off the greatest prank of all time: make a big announcement about FREE STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN DLC (or some other extremely popular song that isn't already available), but then when you go to play it, you instead get this song.

Cool as hell and all, but I'm glad that my roomie is a Rock Band enthusiast and will be the one buying it.
I'll stick to my non rock band compatible G & L Legacy and my classical guitar rather than ponying up $280 for a Squire.
That said, it is still really freaking cool that you'll be able to play rock band with a real guitar I look forward to trying it. Can't believe it won't actually be out until March.
What's all this bull about the new instruments not coming until the end of the month now? Futureshop has them for the 26th.
Talking to a guy from EB last week, and apparently there's a licensing issue with Mad Katz (go figure) who's handling the instrument distribution. They're figuring sometime in the first few weeks of november for shipping. Could be longer. I would doubt that the 26th is actually a hard and fast date, but it coincides with what I've heard.
I used to be steadfast against anything and everything to do with rock band. But if it has seriously gotten to the point where you can plug in any MIDI device, then I know how to build MIDI triggers for acoustic drums for about $5 each which would be more than adequate. With the real guitars and the ability to hook up weighted keyboards this thing is going to kick some serious ass and spawn a whole new approach to practice for the upcoming generation of musicians. Color me impressed.
And for all the Canadians out there, MadCatz has confirmed that many retailers have RB3 hardware now, with more stock flowing in every day! about 1 hour ago via web

Thanks Human Torch. Still haven't seen any, and I've resorted to ordering a keyboard from the US. I knew this wouldn't go smoothly with the transition of the hardware manufacturing transferring from Harmonix to MadCatz. Sigh.

I don't think you can plug in any MIDI device, but the pro guitar has a MIDI output.

According to people I know at EB all the preorders were filled and the rest of the stock slated for Canada was sent to the US as they were in high demand. They think February is when they will see some.
Toronto and Vancouver had some at the beginning but they sold out fast.

Best Buy online cancelled my order. I went to EBGames, they had the pro mode guitar (Mustang I believe). No Strat controllers until Feb. So I plunked down another preorder. *sigh* Stupid MadCatz.
