2013 was a lot of corporate assistance giving back to the community which I will never forget. I remember a giant field in southern Alberta filled with heavy vehicles and equipment like an army depot from all the O&G companies rallying to help drain water out of people's homes and clear out their flooded homes. Hundreds of downtown corporate employees volunteered to pitch in and help the community recover from the flood. I remember going into people's basements with all the free PPE the companies provided with a bunch of IT and accountants to help dig someone out and suck all the mud out of their home. The municipal government would never have been able to organize and pay for something on that scale.
Sadly, that was likely a product of an O&G economy flush with cash which we will likely not see again.

Ah yes, flailing about supporting complaints about Nenshi being in the pocket of "select developers" ( what???) and then pledging a vote for the very on the up and up Davison, a guy on record as being in many millionaire's pockets.
Bravo.

If Gondek wins, then her. If Farkas wins, then whichever of the inner city latte-sipping councillors has the highest profile.

there was a western Standard article (I know not a great source) of two I think it was lawsuits that were recently happening two involving Terringo, one that was slander over the mob comments by Nenshi, and the other breach of the municipal government act that was filed last year.

Hahahahahaahahahaha WTF are you talking about. I thanked one post due to comment "Nenshi was a horrible mayor but a fantastic politician. He completely mismanaged city funds, created way too much policy, and ran his mouth all the time."
GTFOH with flailing

The extent of my knowledge of Farkas (or anyone) I learned in this thread. I will certainly begin reading up on all of them and gain an informed opinion.
I saw there is an anti-masker candidate, yikes.

It wasn’t intended as a slag. I expect if Farkas is elected the gay angle could get played up nationally just like Nenshi’s race and religion was since it flys against stereotypes, even though it is a non-issue here.

Rick Bell will shift to Carra, or whoever replaces Farrell and Wooley. Farkas will have a bastion of defense for everything he does (or doesn't do).
Late-sippers, avocado toast-eaters, and urban Laurentian Elite right in our own backyard will be made out to be enemies of the municipal state and those trying to cripple Calgary's freedoms from taxation and wasteful social programs.

Oh, the Terrigno thing. The WS article even has a copy of the Originating Application in PDF.

This news makes me sad. It was obvious that Nenshi cared. Jyoti Gondek for Mayor!

He's not a mayoral candidate, he's running as the incumbent councillor for Ward 6.

I’m sure you realize and just misspoke that that was a council decision and Iveson’s.
Sorry, it’s a pet peeve of mine.
