Honestly, best DC movie. I thought they really nailed the tone.

I never considered that one, but if we're considering that part of the DCEU then I'm on board.
Go Petunias!

Despite the attitude in here, this pretty much seems to be the consensus among most youtube reviewers as well. I'm still waiting for Christ Stuckmann to post his review.
I'll definitely watch this weekend. Apparently it's naturally broken up into chapters, which allows you to watch it in parts easily, but a lot of reviewers are stating that wasn't necessary, as even at 4 hours, it was engaging enough to watch in one viewing.

That's how you know they are unreliable reviewers though. There is no 4 hour movie that is engaging enough to be watched in one viewing. I'll probably watch it in 1 hour episodes. I just did that for the extended LotR and it was much more enjoyable.

Most critics and YouTube bloggers hated BvS and didn't hold back with their dislike for it. Why would they all of a sudden just say this is good if they didn't enjoy it.

Yeah same here, or at least another reviewer that I trust. I usually align with Stuckman but I do find that he is a bit more generous to superhero movies than I am. But some random youtuber I have never watched their reviews? Meh.

Maybe the movie could have been a decent length without the over abundance of slo-mo and pointless scenery shots. 20 mins in and there is a bout 2 mins or worthwhile footage.

Because a great lot of them, especially YouTubers, have no genuine opinions on these things and side with whatever the most clickable opinion might be?
A big spectacle with great expectations? Actually, it's terrible! Come see why.
That same terrible spectacle which everyone expects to be terrible? Actually, it's great! Come see why.
I think Richard Brody nailed it in his review. It's a bloated, plodding mess with so little substance and such obvious spectacle for the sake of spectacle that it's hard to take it seriously, even in the type of terms you might take the Avengers seriously.
Everything in this movie is comical, not "based on a comic" comical, but unintentionally laughable. Every cool, epic, interesting moment is funny, but Snyder and the movie as a whole does not seem to be in on the joke. I'm sure fanboys will enjoy this because many aren't capable of having a divergent opinion from the fandom. But this movie is hilariously bad.

I havent seen it, probably wont for a while, how would you rate it compared to WW84? Because that movie was a trainwreck.
I just want to know what I'm in for.

I'll hate-watch it and get back to you.
JL is in "so bad it's good" territory, but falls short because it's 4 ####ing hours long and boring as hell. It is funny though.
Some of the funniest parts of just the first hour (or two? or three, what a horrific blur):
- Constant, pointless slow motion, including like the first entire 5 minutes in slow motion LOL
- "Show them your fear!" says queen wonder woman lady "We have no fear! Yaaaaaaa!" says others wonder womans? LOL
- Weird Finnish girls creepy singing while fishman goes for a dip in the lake (LOL)
- Wonder Woman walking like a ####ing crab while she blocks bullets instead of just grabbing the shooters gun? LOL
- Wonder Woman blasting out the entire wall of a building TO KILL ONE SINGLE HUMAN PERSON LOLLLLLLL
- A classic "I HATE MY DAD" cyborg storyline? Nice, LOL
- Aquaman standing on the dock looking SERIOUS while a VERY COOL ACOUSTIC song plays because THIS IS SERIOUS I THINK? looooooool
I'm sorry, I'll stop. I started watching this at midnight and just hate watched the rest after the first 30 minutes was unbearable. I'm sure someone likes it, good to have different opinions, but I will literally listen to nothing anyone who likes this has to say about movies (From mindless action movie to some piece of french new wave cinema) ever. What a load.

Everyone seemed to like Nolan's Batman films. Perhaps it's not a problem with the IP.
Relentlessly over-stylized, comically bad dialogue, hammy over the top music and bad CG is definitely "another way" though, you got that part right.
edit: forgot bloated with brutal pacing. Wouldn't want to leave that out.

The Nolan Batman films were for the most part good, Shazam was good. But the latest spree except for the first wonder Woman have been really terrible.
