I'm surely a bit late with this, but I frickin' salivate daily and nightly over the thought of Five Guys' burgers (cue someone "fixing my post" by removing the word "burgers"). The sensation after polishing off a meal there is such a blissful combination of genuine satisfaction and self-hate.
Their arrival in Calgary affected me so significantly that I couldn't even enjoy other burgers for months, and often still don't. I'm impressed with the Burgerquest idea (and this thread), because it's opened my eyes to a world of hamburger meat that I'd likely have otherwise never discovered. I haven't tried many of these places, so I'm certainly intrigued to get started. Thanks CP!
...Also, is pretty much every poster in this thread obnoxiously obese?

Tragic news - earlier today the wife sends me an email about havig some dog and bugers for dinner, I get home and fire up the Barbie, head to the freezer to discover that all we had were veggie bugers. It was weird grilling bugers that did not flare up as they cooked......
Thankfully I had some buns with some sunflower seeds on them, or else my burger would have been tasteless.....
Hopefully this tragedy never happens to any of you boys......

Thoughts and prayers go out to you, your family, and carnivores around the world in this moment of deep sadness and unimaginable tragedy.
The Following User Says Thank You to Komskies For This Useful Post:
Having now been to Smashburger three times I think and South Street two or three times I am prepared to say that Smashburger is far superior.
They have tastier fries and tastier burgers. I like the subway style of south street that they make it to order right in front of you with choice of ingredients and their burgers aren't bad, in fact they are quite good, just not as good as Smashburger. Biggest complaint about South St is the fries. They use NY fries and every time I've been they are overcooked and dry.
Five guys will probably be a while but I've never been so that should be good.
Finally got to try Smashburger in the new NW location. Pretty good but like the burgerquest review definitely the greasiest meal so far. I would rank it behind Five Guys (my favourite) and South St. Burger.
All burgers made with aged local ranch raised beef using no fillers or binders. Just 100% kosher beef. Marv’s own secret seasoning spice gives this burger the great flavor we are known for. Toppings include: mustard, pickle, onion, mayo, lettuce and tomato.
