SATA III drive on SATA II?

Hey CP!

A couple quick questions:

1. Can you run a SATA III hard drive on a SATA II port?
(This is the drive in question.)

2. If yes, what are the possible negative side effects?

Yup, the drives will be backwards compatible (assuming your computer can handle a 1TB drive, but if it has SATA II it should be ok, but some motherboards needed bios updates to handle them properly).

The only negative side effect is that the drive will run at SATA II speeds, but since the drive itself is slower than that speed then it's no big deal.
