You guys honestly think that he'll leave 15 million $ of cap unused?

Nah, that won't happen.

Flames line up is clearly not good enough....

He is aware of it, if they go as is....

Playoffs are a long shot

Flames have to add, plus they have the cap to spend.

The hope is one day they hire the people that can run things like a winner. Has not happened to either the Flames or Raiders but doesn't mean I'm going to quit as a fan as I just hope that better things will come. It's all you can do really.

No...but my fear is that he adds through UFA without changing out pieces that are already here and have not come close to getting it done.

It just feels like they need a change in the room as much as adding this or that.

Step 1 - Add Sutter
Step 2 - Add Sutter type players to the middle 6 (Pitick and maybe Coleman?)
Step 3 - Replace Gio in free agency (hopefully)
Step 4 - ??????

The shakeup will be through free agency.
Monahan might get traded but his return won't be much anyway.
Then the cap space will be used on the free agency market. Gotta wait a little longer to see what this team ends up looking like.
I'd be surprised if there's any big trades besides that, as there's no way to win trades from our current position of desperation.

He's going to sign a defenseman to fill in Gio's spot and overpay for some depth but that's not going to move the needle. The core group of forwards can't get the job done and there's not really any realistic fits in free agency that are going to make a difference for the organization.

Go re-read the post I responded to. The opposite of the bolded. Poster is embarrassed over results that haven’t happened yet.

Frankly, being embarrassed by a sports team is kinda dumb anyway. Unless you are actually on the said team.

Do something! Or are the owners content to be a perpetual bubble team? Seems so.

Lets wait a bit rather than start adding some doubt's in regards to moves. There is still time and this has been a good draft so far. Just takes one person to start the negativity ball rolling. Valid concern but still time.

It'll get used, most likely on players like Coleman, Edler, Reimer, etc. And probably some other inconsequential 4th line schmucks like Pitlick. Just plugging holes on a sinking ship without addressing the real issue.

I've just about hated every single trade and free agent signing so far to happen. If Tre comes out and says prices weren't their, this time he is absolutely right. I'd rather keep Monahan than any of the bad contracts being moved around.

That wasn’t “calling out”.

I think Tre will be doing a hockey deal. No picks or this year pics involved. Lots of time.

Tre is doing what we all want, he’s casting the long line for Eichel. It takes patience to reel in the big fish!

The negativity sucks, but calling out fans to go find another team is unnecessary IMO

Unfortunately, I think your correct. My guess is that they'll try for major shakeup, and when they aren't able to get something done that they feel makes sense, we'll go into another year with monahan/gaudreau/tkachuk.

We can say what we want about prices, etc. Bottom line, adding OEL and Garland makes Vancouver better, adding Hyman makes Edmonton slightly better even though they have other holes to fill. What have we done to improve? Pitlick….. really? Reality is we will be staring at the bottom of the Pacific with the Sharks.

Buchnevich was a good deal. Bean was, though not really a pressing need fr Calgary. I am undecided about Reinhart. He’s a pretty iffy player to me.

As much as I want change I don't want trades for the sake of it which will make the team worse. I assume there just hasn't been a trade that works for the Flames. It still stinks because we know bringing back the same group isn't going to work but I suppose this could be the journey for Flames fans.
