Is Russia the new Finland for goalies? Seems every team has a promising prospect from there. You get really good value late in the draft in terms of upside
3-0-0 in four appearances with two shutouts and a .954

4 GP, but 3-0 (looks like he played in relief in a game as his TOI in 208 minutes).
2 shutouts, and 5 goals against on 109 shots for 95.4% and 1.44 GAA.
Thanks Scorp - and what were his numbers in the VHL?
10-0-0 as you said with a .943.
I'm not really all that surprised to see Chechelev recalled. Vityaz's starter is a KHL vet of ten years named Ilya Ezhov. He's 33 and is off to a pretty rough start: 4-4-3 with a .903. The rest of the team's options are either unproven or unremarkable... There's a reasonably touted Hurricanes prospect in the mix named Pyotr Kochetkov but he's been hit-or-miss in all three leagues lately.
Chechelev is supernova hot right now — might as well give him a shot, especially when his contract is up at the end of the year.

“His athleticism is through the roof and his battle and compete is what really stands out. And then on top of that, it’s just how consistent he’s been,” said Flames goaltending coach Jordan Sigalet of Chechelev. “When you watch him, he just looks unflappable. If he lets in a goal, he gets right back on track. He’s consistent every game. You don’t see him let in many bad goals.
“But what sticks out most is just how hard he competes on pucks. He’s throwing everything there but the kitchen sink to make a save, and you can’t teach that competitiveness. That’s something he has.”

I am going to say it. Kudos to Sigalet. Seems to be knocking it out of the park with some of his goalie evaluations. More bullets in the chamber, so to speak.

Between Parsons, Chechelev and Wolf we maybe.... just maybe have a future NHL regular in the pipeline.
Hard to say for sure but when a couple of your guys are tops their leagues and age groups you can believe that your shot is better than if they were middling or merely decent.
